I had dinner with some friends yesterday. They were friends I used to have so much fun dancing with. I consider them to be better dancers than me, and I have always admired them. But yesterday, I realised that time is not always kind to good people.
Out of the five of us, I was the only one who was employed. One just got laid off, one left an audit job and wanted to try her luck looking for a job in another country, one had failed his core uni modules and had to retake a whole year of classes and one was lost after dropping out of her masters.
Most of the time, when people ask me how my job is like, I would just tell the truth. My job makes me cry. It’s the kind of job that people ask me not to take for granted. A stable job with good benefits, what could be so bad about it? But there are certain circumstances that others will never be able to understand from the outside.
For me, it’s not the work that’s the problem. I can say that confidently because though I’ve been doing the same job scope in two teams, my experiences have been so different. I never used to cry about work. It was mundane, tedious but never miserable. What caused the change? Definitely the people around me.
You never know how important kindness is until you’re surrounded by a bunch of heartless corporate zombies who don’t understand the value of kindness. Working for a boss who is cruel makes you feel like all the work you do has no greater purpose. Everything is meaningless, because I don’t want to serve a boss who is selfish. I don’t want to contribute to the success of a department who never prioritises its own people.
It’s difficult to dim the light within me. I want to do better everyday. But every morning when I wake up now, I feel like I have to use all the light within me just to prevent myself from breaking down.
That’s the reality.
But not many people can accept the reality that everyone has their own unique battles and struggles. There is no utopia in this world, no place where we can confidently say we want to stay forever in. Yet sometimes people just need the hope that there’s a better life out there.
So when my friends looked to me yesterday night for advice, their eyes were eager with hope. All I could do was smile. When they said ‘Jess, you’re doing the best among us all’, I felt a pain in my chest and my eyes almost teared. I didn’t want to make them feel small, yet I wanted them to stay optimistic that they would find a better path for themselves soon.
I replied: ‘My work is just boring corporate work, but at least the benefits are good enough to make the work worthwhile.’
‘Next month there will be many people leaving because of the bonus cycle, you all should definitely apply if you want to work in a bank!’
The truth is, I don’t wish my life on any of them. But if they think that my life looks better on the outside, then who am I to take this for granted?
It’s true. I could be worse off. I could be better off. Life is on a spectrum, but we shouldn’t judge where anyone stands on this spectrum because we never truly know how they feel on the inside.
When I looked at my friends, I was reminded of all our precious memories in the dance studio. The times when we danced until midnight without a care. I remember us walking under the stars to buy bubble tea on the way home after dancing. If utopia existed, then I would say moments like those brought me the closest to it.
If I could go back to those times, I would hold my friends closer and tell our younger selves that these are the times that we would never relive and that we should treasure forever.

I think you and Balioc and gesturing at two entirely different purposes for tests here.
Balioc is talking about tests used to evaluate teachers.
You're talking about tests used to evaluate students.
I'm only personally familiar with two kinds of tests: tests like the SAT, and Advanced Placement tests. Of these two, the SAT is basically a fancy IQ test (it did not have a writing component when I took it). The AP tests are subject specific.
I do not have any experience with the tests Balioc is gesturing at as actually being used currently for the purpose Balioc is gesturing at, which are tests of basic reading and math used to evaluate how teachers and schools are doing, because so far as I can tell those didn't exist when I was in school. That's a new invention as a way to try to measure how effective teachers are. Back in my day as far as I can tell they just figured you got better the longer you taught, pay was structured accordingly, and that was it, i don't think there were any serious attempts to measure teacher quality.
At some point since then, the education system came under pressure to be more quantitative, or possibly I just dodged the places where this was a thing, and started instituting standardized tests of their student bodies as a way to measure whether students were learning and therefore whether teachers were doing a good job, I believe under the proclaimed justification that the previous system could not get rid of bad teachers, and under a legitimate observation that some schools were having students go through who did not learn basic math or reading.
Probably this was actually an attempt to break either teacher's unions (which, yeah, teacher unions probably did make it hard to fire bad teachers, but also made it so teaching wasn't a horrible job) or to break some perceived liberalism of teachers (by ensuring they would teach what the state specified) or as a bid to privatize education by people who stood to make money. Or just proposed by people selling standardized tests.
The upshot is that schools and teachers are now measured by how much their students improve on standardized test scores. And since standardized tests have a strong IQ component, this is frequently very fucking hard to do without actually measuring changes in the student body by accident.
Say you have a teacher who gets a spectacularly good batch of students. Those kids are the test at the beginning of the year because they're ahead. Then the teacher has them for a year, a good time is had by all, and the kids retake the test and do the same because they already knew all this stuff. That teacher is fucked. Their kids didn't improve, so their evaluation says they failed to teach the kids anything.
So maybe they wise up and get rid of that pretest post test nonsense, and just measure absolute ability. Well that fucks all the students who are just bad at standardized tests, and all the schools and teachers with those students.
As far as tests for evaluating which students should go to which universities, IQ tests are, as I understand it, a very good measure of which students will actually do well, because they tend to identify talented students regardless of background. Yeah, you can get some boost from test prep, but that only goes so far, and the more that test is an IQ test the less far that goes. This is generally better than extracurriculars (socioeconomic metric) or essays (socioeconomic metric) or subject based tests (socioeconomic metric because poorly funded schools don't have a variety of AP classes) if your goal is to find talented students regardless of background.
But if the thing you're trying to measure is the education system itself you're running kids through, you absolutely do not want an IQ test, you want subject tests and you want them to not be speed based at all. You want 90% of the kids to finish with time to spare, and that means some kids should be finishing in 10% of the allotted time.
I've been out of the game too long to have much idea what tests schools are using to measure how teachers are doing, I hope by now they've wised up that trying to stack rank teachers using the test scores of their kids is just a terrible idea, but I doubt it.
I'm glad they're measuring whether kids come out with basic reading and writing skills on some level, because those are important and hopefully measurement is a useful way to go in with sword and torch and burn out any fuckwits who are still trying to teach reading without teaching phonics. But otherwise I suspect these tests are primarily misused for bad purposes.
I've said it before, I'm just repeating myself at this point, but my cries have been swallowed by the winds of discourse and so I feel compelled to try once more --
The tests that get used in the US to measure "student achievement," and thereby "school effectiveness," are close to 100% worthless for the purpose.
I say this as someone who is
(a) very much in favor of using other tests to measure student achievement and thereby school effectiveness, and also
(b) very much in favor of using those tests for other purposes.
Close to 100% of the big-stakes tests, across the country, from kindergarten up through the end of high school, are either timed reading-comprehension exercises or timed basic math exercises. Which is to say: they are barely-disguised IQ tests. They do not demand any particular corpus of knowledge, or for that matter any kind of cultivated skill, beyond the absolute baseline universal standards of "can read and understand written English" and "can execute the most fundamental algebraic and geometric operations." They give points for being quick and accurate, and sometimes for being able to see through simple tricks. You do well on those tests by having a fast, agile, precise, unclouded mind and a capacious working memory.
That is not a thing that any teacher can teach.
It's an important thing. There are all sorts of circumstances where it really matters whether you have a fast, agile, precise, unclouded mind and a capacious working memory. But measuring that, and then using the results to determine whether or not a school has done its job, is pants-on-head insane.
...the trick, of course, is that -- for all the bellyaching and caterwauling about intelligence measurement -- we can all pretty much agree that, wherever they come from, reading comprehension and basic math skills are things that matter. In order to have a sane measurement system for schools, we'd have to come to a similar agreement about anything that a school could reasonably be expected to teach.
This is one reason, of many, that it is good to have an acknowledged cultural canon. But we could at least start with dropping the reading and math, and testing basic scientific and historical knowledge instead.

Hey, if you don‘t mind, could you do Leona, the Octatrio, Jamil, Vil & Lilia, if it isn’t too much, with an s/o who fails all their exams on purpose just to retake them and then have a very high score and basically being at the top of their class?
So, does anyone play Dragon Age? I haven’t slept in 72 hours, I am running off of Energy Drinks, sarcasm and anxiety just because I wanted to beat all 3 games…Also, I am back to playing twst so I should hopefully be writing more 😅
Azul
Boy is PROUD
But only a little
Like, he can just help you study???
You know that way, you’re guaranteed to get a high score on the first try
Jade
Is also proud
He’s a sketchy boy after all
Unlike Azul, he won't try to offer to teach you everything, he'll just let you do your thing
Honestly doesn't care
You're passing now, aren't you? What's the issue?
Floyd
That’s so boring though???
Like, fishie, that’s a good plan but also boring 😭
If you pass the first time instead of trying to get perfect grades then you'd have more time to spend with him
He loves you and literally gives no shits about your grades (or his own, for that matter)
Jamil
He’s just irritated
But, like, he gets questions wrong on purpose so he gets an average score, and keeps his grade lower than Kalim’s, so he can’t talk
“You should just study!”
“And you shouldn’t keep your grades lower than Kalim’s on purpose, but here we are”
He tries to make you study
At least, when he has a break from being overprotective of Kalim
Vil
He cursed your test paper
That’s how over you failing your tests the first time he was
The rule? “If whoever writes on this paper answers a question wrong, they will hear Baby Shark in their head on repeat until they answer all correct”
Congrats!! You finally passed and he is happy now
Lilia
He’s a little pissed
Lilia is literally the oldest person at the school, he knows this stuff, he can teach it to you??? He already did with Malleus, Silver and Sebek after all.
He straight up ignores you now if you fail any tests
Lilia is just petty now
Leona
You think he cares? He literally has the worst grades in the school
At most, he'll whine about how your retakes take away from time you could be spending napping with him
He'll prolly just roll his eyes when you fail your tests the first time
100% will abduct you for naps the second you finish your test retakes

broken reverie.
Tumblr media
a/n: he’s not wearing glasses in this one.
word count: 3.9k
genre: smut, nsfw, college AU
warnings: taboo rs, slapping, spanking, choking, face fucking, brat taming (kind of), slight degradation, creampie, age gap (nanami reaching 40)
pairing: professor!nanami x f!reader
summary: professor nanami calls you to his office to ‘talk’ about your terrible performance in his class.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
maybe you went too far.
or else you wouldn’t have ended up in his office.
but is this the outcome you coveted? yes.
the door creaks behind you before it closes again as you sit and wait in front of the big wooden desk. you were kind of excited when he told you to come and see him at his office earlier but now you’re having a whirlwind of emotions making your stomach churn and you don’t dare to look around to face him– even though he’s going to be sitting in front of you in a moment.
his shoes clack against the floor as he strides and sits on his chair. the air in the room feels dense when the male doesn’t say anything; as if you’re not in his presence to begin with.
he looks exasperated. a long, deep breath is emitted through his nostrils as he loosens up his tie from the collar. you only gawk at him in awe as he does so, but quickly snap out when he finally shifts his gaze at you.
“so, are you going to tell me what’s going on?” he finally breaks the silence. the deep, husky tone of his voice fills your ear and you hope he doesn’t notice your thighs press against each other almost immediately.
“tell you.. what?” you mentally slap yourself. you’re clearly aware of what he’s insinuating but you’re suddenly lost for words. there’s a huge difference between seeing him in class and being alone together with him. it’s even more nerve wrecking than you imagined and oh god, is his ac broken? because it suddenly feels hot.
nanami raises a brow, evidently unamused. “i had the courtesy to make time for you when i should be having brunch now so i don’t appreciate you playing coy.”
you gulp audibly, “i’m sorry, sir.”
“if it’s not clear to you yet, i’m talking about your grades.” he opens the drawer under his desk and pulls out a pile of paper before slamming it in front of you. you blink in surprise and flip through the pages, though you know you don’t need to see it when you already know what lies on them. there are a lot of red circles on the papers, namely yours, with huge unpleasant numbers on the corner ranging from 12% to 25%.
then he takes out another file which you realize as your student record throughout your semester and the subjects you currently take.
“i find it odd that you scored well for your other courses.” he skims through the pages. “you certainly didn’t cheat, i can tell.”
“no, of course not.”
“then, what’s the problem here?” his tired eyes bore into you as he waits for you to answer or come up with whatever excuse.
“well, i–”
“you’re doing it on purpose.” he snaps.
it’s as if time comes to a stop. your cheeks heat up with humiliation and you can’t bring yourself to continue to look at him in the eyes. although you’re aware that your silence means compliance, you’re still jumbling up words in your head to deny his assumption.
“are you going to tell me i’m wrong?”
“yes– i-i mean–” you stammer.
“then enlighten me.” he glances at the branded watch donned on his left wrist. “we have time.”
you shake your head, “i have another class soon.”
“skip it.” he quickly retorts. “i’m sure you have no problems with that. your grades are doing well for that one, but certainly not mine.”
sweat starts to form on your palms as you look down on your thighs, purposely avoiding his eyes that hold nothing but so much intensity. you’re weighing between two options; to keep on bluffing or come clean. you don’t think that nanami would let you get off the hook if you keep on lying and you’d definitely be bombarded with more questions, yet the outcome of the latter would be so embarrassing and you don’t know if you can live it down for the rest of the semester.
you’ve fantasized about being alone with him but.. not particularly this way.
gathering courage and taking a deep breath, you decide it’s best to just tell him the truth.
“you’re right,” you feel your ears burning, hands clammy. “i purposely failed your class.”
lifting up your head, you see the male grinning lopsidedly in his seat. maybe he’s pleased that you’re not wasting his time anymore, you’re not sure, he’s not easy to read.
“wasn’t that easy?” he folds his arms in front of his chest. “i have my own speculation but i wanna hear why you did it.”
“um,” you look down to your hands again, also half wondering what kind of bold assumption he has in mind. “i was dared by my friend.”
“wrong,” he scoffs. “and look at me while you’re talking.”
you sigh defeatedly and nervously fix your gaze. if you’ve learned one thing now, it’s that your professor doesn’t have tolerance for bullshit and he knows one when he hears one.
“i-i did it for.. attention.”
“my attention?” he emphasizes, maintaining his stoic persona to mask his amusement of finding out that his speculation turns out to be indeed true.
you purse your lips in a thin line, nodding your head quietly. nanami remains to stare at you as he ponders in silence. you can hear your heart beating rapidly in your ears and you want to break eye contact so badly but you’re certain it wouldn’t be wise.
“all that, just for a crumb of my attention?” he spits with a hint of venom in his voice. “are you happy with what you did?”
well, you’ve imagined him punishing you on his desk, fuck you raw or spank you with his belt until your ass turns red– not some serious interrogation.
“no, sir.”
nanami props his elbows on the table, hands clasped under his chin to keep his head up. the air around him becomes even more threatening but it somehow manages you to feel even more aroused, making your toes curl in your shoes. you definitely need to get out soon.
“you know, if i have even one student failing my class, i could get into trouble and be questioned for my performance.” he starts. “to have you doing that for your own selfish incentive is unacceptable, don’t you think?”
“i’m sorry.” you mumble with meek.
“besides that, you might have to retake this course again for your next semester and it’ll waste your time– or..?”
you stay silent to let him continue.
“or you were intending to be in my class again so you can see me?”
“y-yes.” you bashfully admit after one silent moment, knowing that lying will take you nowhere. “i’m sorry, sir.”
nanami chuckles, finding your naivety to be rather entertaining. never has he ever met a student like you, outwardly expressing their interest in him by failing their paper. he’s not too sure what you’re trying to get out of him but maybe he can put one and one together. it’s pretty common that younger women have an attraction to older men like him and your classmates are.. well, not exactly the best looking either.
“are you?” he smirks cynically. “do you have any idea how many students i have to monitor? how tiring my job can be?”
“yes. it was inconsiderate of me. i’m sor–”
“show me.” nanami cuts you off and leans back on his chair. maybe he can push you a little bit, he thinks. you owe him this anyway.
you blink, perplexed. “what?”
“you kept saying sorry.” he undoes two of the buttons on his blue dress shirt and spreads his legs apart. “talk is cheap. show me.”
you do a double take as he taps his thigh and waits for you to come over. you have the faintest idea of what he’s implying but your body freezes and your brain short-circuits as if paralyzed.
“you chose to lie again? you’re not really sorry, are you?”
“no, no! that’s not it. i just..”
an ongoing battle takes place in your mind– sure that this is a part of your deepest, darkest fantasy yet you’re just baffled over how quick nanami catches on to it. now that your debaucherous dream has become a vivid reality, you don’t know which is the right step to take.
“but if not now, when?” a soft voice in your head whispers. if desire could embody a voice, you think this is it. gentle, yet seductive as if it attempts to give you a push to pluck and have a taste of the forbidden fruit.
“how much longer do you have to touch yourself to the thoughts of your professor before you go to bed?”
“although this could be a one time thing, at least you’d know how it feels like.”
you slowly get up from your seat and make your way towards him. nanami’s eyes trail up at you, down to the floor then back up at you; gesturing you to get on your knees.
you settle between his thick thighs and look up at him timidly through your lashes before you bring your hands to undo his belt.
“no hands.” he quickly demands.
you lick your lips as you figure the structure of the belt and how you’re going to take it off without the aid of your hands. the taste of cold metal and leather instantly invades your palate as you feebly use your teeth to tug the front loop of his belt. your head shifts awkwardly side to side until you finally get to catch the buckle between your teeth, pulling it hard before the belt soon unfastens.
nanami only observes you indifferently from above, yet the large tent in front of you doesn’t conceal the excitement he currently possesses.
you take a deep breath before you continue on succeeding your quest. you twist your neck as you find and tug on the fabric loop that holds the button.
“i know you’re a smart girl.” he praises as he rests his hand on top of your head while you struggle to lift up the zipper with your tongue and grasp it between your teeth. the simple praise inflates your confidence and you become more eager to complete your task so you can claim your awaiting prize.
with valiantness, you finally lock eyes with him as you pull down his zipper completely to reveal the huge bulge pressing against the fabric of his briefs and the tip slightly poking out from the top.
“hm? you still have to take it out, no?” he smirks as he notices you gape at the outline of his cock.
you quickly pull yourself together and lean back up to the stretchy band on his waist. he hisses when he feels your tongue purposely graze against the flushed tip before you pull down the briefs by force to reveal the one thing you’ve been desiring for so long.
you press your thighs together as a dull ache forms in your core from the sight of his thick cock standing proudly in front of you. it’s nothing like you’ve ever imagined– it’s better and you’ve finally found it worth going through all that trouble of failing his class (and using your mouth to take off his pants).
“this is what you want, isn’t it?” he sneers, titling up your chin with his fingers, brushing your lips with his thumb and pulling the bottom lip apart so he can see a row of teeth.
“y-yes, sir.” you gulp and breathe as you wait for his next command.
nanami’s lips tug into a conceited smirk, “suck.”
leaning down your head to the base, you flatten your tongue underneath the shaft and slowly drag upwards in favor of reveling the veins on his hard cock. nanami lets out a sigh of content when he feels your tongue licking his tip and his hand tugs on your locks by reflex. you look at him as you wrap your lips around the tip, slobbering the tip with your saliva and his precum.
“fuck.” he curses under his breath and his head falls back when the warmth of your mouth finally engulfs his throbbing cock as you take most of the length inside your mouth.
you hollow your cheeks together, head bobbing up and down as you struggle to take more of his cock that you nearly choke whenever the tip hits the back of your throat, but the hand on top of your head grabs a fistful of your hair and he pushes your head down to sink all his length inside your mouth deeper. when you want to pull away, he only holds you in place and remains his cock down your throat.
“through your nose.” he mutters. tears start to well in your eyes while your saliva just trickles down to his balls as he screws his eyes shut and relishes in the pleasure that washes throughout his body. “i needed this so bad, you know?”
your whines only give him more stimulation and his hips jerk in response, “just wouldn’t think that a student– fuck– out of all people would choke on my dick.” he lets out a sardonic chuckle as if something just crossed his mind. “it’s wrong, but that’s what makes it feel so good, isn’t it?”
nanami keeps you in the position as he ruts his hips slowly into your throat. his eyes are closed in concentration and his lips part slightly in fast and short pants. you work on your gag reflex as you let him fuck your mouth, enduring the sharp sting on your scalp when he tugs your hair harder– at least you know you’re making him feel good.
“if i cum in your mouth, you’d gladly swallow, won’t you?”
you can feel his cock twitching when you let out a choke of assent from your throat but you splutter as soon as nanami abruptly pulls away his cock because of a sudden knock on the door that startles the both of you.
“get under the desk.” he urges and you quickly crawl to hide while he coughs and inches closer to his desk. “come in.”
you hear the door open followed by echoes of footsteps before it comes to a halt in front of his desk.
“didn’t i tell you to contact me before seeing me?” his voice is laced with irritation yet collected as he speaks. you can imagine the agitated look on his face, thinking it would be only natural for anyone to assume that he’s already having a bad day. and to them, interrupting the peak of his orgasm is most definitely not it.
without a second thought, you take back his dick inside your mouth. a spur of triumph swells in your chest when you feel his body jolts in surprise. you think it’s only fair since he has choked you with his cock and what perfect timing to carry out your petty vengeance when the man is busy advising his student.
however, nanami shifts on his seat to give you more access to take more length of his cock. he tries to stay composed as he feels your tongue gliding up and down his shaft but once the wet muscle prods against the slit, he emits an oddly sharp exhale. you can hear him almost stammering as he speaks and the way his tone changes to conceal the squelching sounds you elicit from underneath the table as you please his cock with zeal.
“so, i want you to fix the mistake and hmm..,” his hands ball into fists on the table as he takes a deep breath. “show me in class tomorrow.”
“sure. uh, are you okay, sir?” you hear the voice say. “you don’t look well.”
his eye twitches when your tongue wraps around his balls, taking one inside your mouth to suck harshly.
“yeah, fine.” he clears his throat. “thanks for asking.”
nanami only watches as his student turns to walk towards the door until the door closes behind him. once he’s sure that the student has left the door, he finally leans back on his chair in relief.
“fuck.” he groans, glancing down at you as you look up at him innocently with doe eyes and your swollen lips wrapped prettily around his balls. yet, he looks dissatisfied more than anything.
nanami grabs your arm and drags you out from under his desk until you’re on your feet, “i never took you as a fucking brat.” he lifts up your skirt and bites back a groan once he sees the damp patch on your panties. “did you touch yourself?”
you hum a ‘mhm’, feigning guiltlessness as he grazes his fingers on your inner thighs.
“you’re just asking for me to touch you here, hm?” shivers run up your spine when his thumb ghosts over your wet slit and up to your clit.
“y-yes.” your breath hitches.
“begging for me to push your head on the table and ram my cock inside you?” he muses, pressing on your clit as he watches you squirm. “is that what you want?”
“please–” you roll your hips slightly to soothe the ache on his thumb but a hand comes down harshly on your ass, gesturing for you to stop in a fierce manner.
nanami chuckles mockingly, “well, that’s what exactly you’re not going to get.”
a whine elicits from your lips when he draws back his hands to his thighs and you glance at his dick; still throbbing and leaking precum from the florid tip. well, at least he hasn’t put it back inside his pants, so you still have a chance.
“come on. you haven’t shown me how much you’re sorry.”
with your inhibitions already flew out of the window, you stand in between his thighs, hoist the skirt to your waist and tug your panties to the side before squatting down to smear your slick on his dick. sparks of arousal swim through you as you grind your clit on the tip before you sink down, gasping as his thick cock stretches your cunt and down until you’re filled to the brim.
you glance at the male expectantly, waiting for him to move but he raises a questioning brow at you, “if you want something, work for it.”
not exactly what you sought for, but it should suffice. you begin to gyrate your hips slowly, adjusting to his size before you can pick up the pace. you fight the urge to hold onto him for leverage, in fear he wouldn’t appreciate the crumple on his expensive dress shirt later.
as you become more delirious, you start to hump his cock vigorously, whining like a bitch in heat as you feel every vein and ridges on his cock brushing deliciously against your walls. nanami lifts the hem of your shirt and brings it up to your mouth and you quickly catch it between your teeth.
“the door isn’t locked, you know.” he muses, staring at your bouncing tits with half lidded eyes; mesmerized and thick with lust. “what’s going to happen if someone comes in and sees you bouncing on her professor’s cock like a little whore?”
a low, guttural sound rips from his throat when he feels your walls clenching around him in response.
“you’d like that, don’t you?” he smirks, tugging your bra down slightly and brushes his thumb against the erected nipple, making you mewl through the fabric in your mouth.
“you know you’re not supposed to do this but,” he brings up his thumb to caress your cheek. “you’re just so eager to please me, aren’t you?”
you sniffle in response, hands clutching on his solid thighs as you melt into his soft gaze before it’s gone in an instant.
“but i don’t like brats.” he sneers, drawing his hand away to slap your breast. “i don’t like people making my job harder. are you a brat?”
you shake your head, he slaps again.
“you act like one. stop lying.”
nanami tugs down the shirt from your mouth, a part of the fabric already drenched with your drool. his large hand circles around your throat while the other grips your hip firmly to roll your hip even faster on his dick.
“oh– feels good–!” you moan wantonly, eyes rolling back as you let him control your body and assert his dominance over you.
“fuck it does.” he presses your throat tighter on the sides, restricting air from entering your lungs but your walls squeeze harder in retaliation.
“bratty little bitch. clamping down on me like that.” he grits out and slaps across your face. what seems to be a rather harsh form of treatment, the pleasure filled sting and the lack of oxygen only fuel your arousal that you don’t even notice the way you hump on his cock has become more rapturous.
“getting off to this?” nanami slaps your other cheek before he lets go of his grip around your neck and you’re finally able to breathe air again. yet, he doesn’t spare you time to gather yourself before he promptly lifts up your hips and starts to pound inside your cunt relentlessly.
the position causes you to tip to the front and you immediately hold on to him; face burying on the crook of his neck while his cologne fills your senses and sends you into a state of frenzy.
“you like me using your tight cunt like that?” nanami grabs your ass for leverage, the angle allows him to fuck you so deep that you’re able to feel his cockhead kissing your cervix with each thrust.
“y-yes–!” you cry, the pressure in your stomach building up as you inch closer to an orgasm.
“like it when i use you to take out my frustrations?” he spanks the meaty flesh; walls clenching tighter on his fat cock and more slick dripping down his balls. “you just want to be my little cocksleeve, don’t you?”
“yesyesyes– please–!” your body starts to tremble above him. “w-wanna cum–”
“then fucking cum.” nanami rams into your cunny faster, abusing the spongy walls until the pressure snaps and tips you over the edge. you moan breathlessly into his neck, while your pussy gushes and creams around his cock.
“that’s a good girl,” he fucks you through your high, grunting and panting as he pushes through the pulsing walls in order to chase his high. “and good girls get rewarded, right?”
you hum in agreement, still dazed and swimming in ecstasy as you gawk at him with heavy lidded eyes; the sweat glistening his forehead and sharp eyes focusing on where your bodies join.
“then you’re gonna get some huge load in this pretty pussy.” his pace begins to stutter, nails digging deeper into your skin before his cock twitches and his hips freeze as he paints your insides white with cum.
both exhausted bodies rest against each other, chests heaving as you and nanami take time to regain composure and come down from your highs. he lifts you up slightly to take out his spent cock and he tugs back your panties in place, not minding the cum that dribbles from your quivering hole.
your legs tremble once you get off of him that you have to force yourself to find your footing as you fix your skirt while the older male pulls back his pants in place.
“do your best for your next papers, no more of that bullshit.” he fastens his buttons and straightens his tie before raising his hands to brush against his sleek, light brown hair that’s mixed with a few strands of grey. “but if you have any problems, just come and see me in my office.”
nanami falls quiet for a brief second to contemplate and you straighten your back when you once again meet his icy gaze, “after hours.”

Olivia Benson x Reader
Rated M
Request: Could you do one with Olivia x Amanda or Olivia x reader? Where Liv is the teacher and the student came to her house for a "private" lesson or something.
By now you should be used to the damp panties and ache between your thighs. It has become quite common since the beginning of the semester. Yet here you are struggling to keep still in your seat. From the short brown hair that frames her face just perfectly to the black leather jacket that hugs her just right to the cocky attitude and everything in between causes a flood twice a week. Professor Benson was without a doubt the hottest professor on campus. You have never had so much trouble focusing on a subject before. In all honesty, you might even be failing this class. You weren't sure. However, the thought of having to retake this course has its appeal. “How can you focus on anything when she looks like this? God, I gotta stop she's probably straight.” you think to yourself. “I don't see a ring though...ugh...
Stop!!!!
Wow, that sounded loud in my head.”
“Y/N?” she calls to you gaining your attention. The whole class is looking at you. “Holy shit did I say that out loud.”
“Yes?” You asked timidly.
“Are you okay or can I finish the lecture?” she asked raising her eyebrows.
“Umm, yeah sure.” you stuttered. A blush spreads across your face as the class snickers.
For the next ten minutes, you’re quiet as can be. Praying for the clock to hurry up so you can sprint out the door. As soon as Professor Benson dismissed the class you shot up out of your seat. Halfway to the door, you hear her call your name. You stop in your tracks and brace yourself for the humiliation to come.
Walking to her desk you can feel your cheeks burning and your heart pounding. She waits until every soul is gone until it's just the two of you. She sits down in her seat and you feel as if she's staring into your soul.
“Tell me y/n. Do you find my class boring?” she asked.
“N...noo Professor Benson not at all” you stutter.
She smiles “ I noticed that you tend to zone out during my lectures. Which is why it's not hard to believe that your grades are slipping. Your papers are very interesting and captivating to read. However, your in work class and communication are lacking.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I would love for you to express these thoughts with your peers. That's the purpose of a lecture to listen but to also bounce ideas and thoughts off of each other. Do you think you're too good to speak to your peers?”
“No! I just don't like to talk in class. I'm ss..sorry I’ll try to speak more. “ you said trying to swallow your emotions.
She sighed as she watched you duck your head hiding your eyes from her.
“Y/n I don't mean to upset you I just want you to be well rounded and to take advantage of the environment you are in.”
“I understand.”
“You're a good student. I just want you to thrive and seek more.”
“I understand. I'll try harder.”
“I hope you understand that I truly mean no harm. I'd just hate to see you waste your potential. With that being said I believe this belongs to you.” she says handing over the paper. Your eyes scan the paper seeing the bright red A+ at the top.
“Like I said you're a good student. Your papers are by far my favorite to read.” She smiles.
You smiled looking at her.
“Thank you, Professor Benson. “
“No thanks needed you did all the hard work. However, If you wish to have a better mark you need to participate and work on your public speaking.”
“I understand.”
“Now I don’t normally do this but I’m willing to offer some extra credit. If you’re interested?”
“Yes ma’am.”
“Good. I’ll see you Thursday night. I have your number on file I send you the details.” She says with a smile.
“Thank you Professor Benson I appreciate it.”
“No problem. I’ll see you then.”
You smiled nodding your head as you gathered your things to leave.
“And y/n?” She calls out causing you to turn around.
“When it’s just the two of us you can call me Olivia.”
“Olivia?”
“Mhm hmm.”
“Okay. See you later Olivia.” You smiled walking out the door.
The next day you received a text message from Olivia. It was an address and she said to meet her at 7. As you replied “ Okay” as your stomach formed knots. You were extremely anxious about being alone with her. What if you said something stupid or acted like a fool. You'd never be able to live it down. You sighed as you prepared for bed slightly dreading but also excited about tomorrow night.
The next day went by rather quickly as you mentally prepared for your meeting with the professor. Walking to the address you take in your surroundings discovering that this must be her apartment. You gulped as you headed for the door. Taking deep breaths you tried to calm yourself on the elevator ride up to her door. Finding it pretty quickly you gently knocked waiting. A few minutes later the door opens reliving Olivia. Your breath caught in your throat as you took in the sight of her. Her short brown hair was messier than usual.
She wore a pair of tight dark blue jeans and an NYPD t-shirt and you were pretty sure she didn't have anything underneath it.
She smiles stepping aside for you to enter.
“Y/n, right on time. Come in.”
You smiled entering the apartment.
“Would you like something to drink? I have water? Tea? Wine?”
“Wait,” she says stopping in her tracks.
“How old are you again?”
“22.” you stuttered.
“Ah. So yes I have wine or a beer if you prefer that.”
You shake your head “Water is fine.”
She smiles “Okay. I'll be right back.”
You smiled as she walks into the kitchen. Taking a moment you gather yourself as you look around her apartment. It's simple, laid back. There are countless books, and files scattered across the coffee table. She was working before you showed up. Taking a seat on the couch you run your hands down your jeans as you tried to calm your nerves.
“Here you go,” she says offering you the glass of water.
“Thank you.”
She smiles taking a seat next to you.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes. No. Umm.Yes.” you stuttered blushing slightly.
“There's no reason to be nervous. As I said before you're a smart girl. I think you just need a little help finding your voice.” she says.
You nod. “Yes.”
Olivia smiles “You know I've found the best way to do so is to express what you want. Do you know what you want y/n?”
“Like in class?”
“Sure. Or in general.”
“Umm. I want to pass your course and I want to be a journalist.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yes. I love to write. To tell a story.”
“Well that much is obvious.” she chuckles. You looked up at her in confusion.
“I told you that your papers are my favorite to read.”
“Oh. Right. Sorry, I forgot.”
“That's alright. Tell me why is it that you space out in my class hmm?”
“Well, I umm.”
“I've seen you on campus. You seem to be very aware of your surroundings. Which leads me to believe that there is a distraction for you in my class. Is there?”
“Is there what?”
“A distraction.”
“Well, I umm.”
“Speak up.”
“Yes,” you said breathlessly.
She nods “hmm I thought so. And what might that be?”
“I...umm..”
“Would it be me?” she asked with a grin.
Your cheeks flushed and covered with a bright pink tint. The older woman chuckled.
“I thought so. And why might that be y/n?”
You shake your head not knowing how to respond. Olivia smiles grabbing your hands. “Can I tell you a secret?” she asked.
You looked up at her nodding your head.
“I find myself distracted by you as well.”
“You do?”
“Mhmm. Can you tell me why?”
“Why what?”
“Why I'm such a distraction for you.” she smiles.
“Umm. Well. I..”
“Are you thinking about me?” she asked gently running her fingertips up and down your thigh.
“Yes,” you whispered.
“Mmm. Sexual things?” she husked.
“Yes,” you answered slightly shocked by your confession.
She chuckles “I see. And what is it that you want dear?”
You looked up at her with wide eyes and your mouth slightly open not knowing what to say. She leans in just inches away from your lips. “Tell me what you want.”
“You.”
She grins slowly moving her lips closer to yours until they're barely touching.
“Do you want to kiss me?” she asked.
Your eyes closed as you breathed in her scent. “Yes.”
She hums “Do you want to fuck me?”
“Yes,” you whispered moaning as her mouth attaches to yours.
Olivia circles her arms around your waist pulling you to sit in her lap. Her mouth never leaving yours. You moaned at the taste of her tongue exploring your mouth. She hums pulling you closer as you begin to grind on her. Pulling back she looks up at you with lust in her eyes. “Do you want me to fuck you?” she asked. You nod your head. She smiles shaking hers “Tell me.”
“Yes. I want you to fuck me,” you whispered. She grins lifting you off her lap to stand in front of her. Carefully unbuttoning your jeans she slowly slides them down your legs throwing them to the side once you stepped out. She wastes no time freeing you from your panties as well. Looking up at you with a smile she asked “Do you want me to kiss you?”
“Yes,” you whispered.
“Where?” she asked.
You breathed deeply trying to control your heavy pants. She smiles lifting your shirt exposing your stomach placing a gentle kiss. “Here?”
“No.”
She grins dragging her tongue down your stomach as she reaches your hip bone kissing it gently. “Here?”
“Lower.” you moaned. She smiles as he drags her tongue lower her eyes never leaving yours. Kissing the top of your cunt she whispered “Here?”
“Lower.” you moaned.
Her tongue slides lower until she dips it in between your folds causing your head to sway back. “Here,” she asked kissing your clit gently. “Yes.” you moaned loudly.
She grins using her fingertips to expose your now throbbing bud. Taking a long lick across it causing you to Shutter. Her lips hover around it before she sucks it into her mouth. You moaned deeply as your fingers tangled in her hair. She hums and moans against you causing vibrations that are sending you into a pleasurable bliss.
“Olivia.” you sighed holding on to her short brown locks as she sucks.
Wrapping her arms around your waist she pulls you into her face as she feasts on you. You moaned and sighed holding on tight as she brings you closer and closer. Your legs wobble and shake causing you to stumble slightly. Olivia pulls back looking up at you as she sits back against the couch tugging you to straddle her lap.
Once you were settled she hooks her hand behind your head pulling you in for a passionate kiss. Pulling back slightly she whispered, “What do you want?”
You whined looking up at her.
“Speak up! Tell me, love.”
“I want you,” you whispered.
“How?”
You grind your hips against her legs “Inside of me.”
She smiles entering you with two long fingers. “Ahh.” you moaned dropping your head against hers.
“Take what you want. Tell me how you want it,” she orders.
You rolled your hips meeting her pace breathing deeply against her mouth.
“Faster,” you whispered.
Olivia picks up the pace “Like that?”
“Yes! Yes. Just like that.” you chant rolling your hips vigorously. She grins watching you ride her fingers.
Once you got lost in the pleasure it was easier for you to say what you wanted.
“More.”
“More?” she asked adding another finger.
“Yes! God yes!”
“Do you like that?”
“Yes! Yes! Liv.”
She smiles keeping her pace as she watches you slowly make your way towards the edge. “Close,” you whispered.
“Your close?”
“Yes.”
“What do you need baby?”
“Ah.Mhmm. I..umm. God. Olivia.” you stuttered getting lost in the pleasure.
“Tell me!” she growls.
“Thumb. My clit.” you moaned as her thumb circled the bud.
“Like that?”
“Yes! Yes! Ah. God.”
Olivia chuckles leaning to give you a sloppy kiss. You moaned wrapping your arms around her neck.
“I'm coming,” you whispered.
Brown eyes locked onto yours as she twisted her fingers deep inside of you.
“Then come for me, baby,” she growled.
That was all it took as your body arched into hers. Fire spread across your limbs as you screamed her name. She quickly covers your mouth with hers swallowing your screams.
Your body goes limp against hers as your hips slowly come to a halt. Her fingers gently thrust in and out of you as you drip down her hand. Your body was on overdrive as your head slumped against her neck. Gently reaching down you grab her wrist halting her thrust.
“Enough,” you whispered.
She hums kissing the side of your head before gently pulling out. The sound of her licking her fingers draws your attention to her. Looking up at her she smiles as she licks every last drop off her fingers.
Sitting up in her lap you smiled at her shyly. She chuckled “You're a piece of work. There’s no way you can come like that and still be shy.”
You smiled shrugging your shoulders. “Maybe I still need a few lessons.”
“Is that so?”
You leaned in kissing her “Yes.”
“Well maybe we can work something out,” she whispers.
“Next Thursday?” you asked innocently.
She chuckled “Of course. Anything for my favorite student.”

THE CLIMB - Storyline (Assassination Classroom x Tower of God AU)
Status: to be continuously edited and added until I'm out of ideas
Tumblr media
Here it is, the finalized storyline. Just like the actual Tower of God series, this AU also has 3 parts. But I've only managed to roughly write out 3/4 of Act 1 (and I still have yet to add details). With Act 2, certain arcs have already been planned through but others have yet to be finalised (ToG Season 2 was mad as hell, I just CAN'T help but to pick out arcs I liked from the original and translate them to an AU with assclass characters). And finally, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do with Act 3 (but one thing's for sure was that Team DREAM as a whole gets their deserved spotlight - I grew a soft spot for them, you see hahaha).
Tumblr media
Semi-annually, 1200 people are selected by Headon, the Caretaker of the Tower and the Guardian of the 1st Floor, to climb the Tower as Regulars.
Those Regulars will then be transported to 3 different testing grounds at the 2nd Floor.
So the 1st test at the 2nd Floor will begin with 400 Regulars present at each different testing ground.
The first 3 tests will all be elimination-types. The first elimination test will be: Narrow the number down from 400 to 200 by using any means.
Nagisa and Karma formed a truce then found Sugino while trying to stray away from the bloodied battlefield.
Chiba managed to prevent Nakamura and Maehara from killing each other when the test was about to be done.
The second elimination test will be: the remaining 200 Regulars must form a team of 3. Those who fail to be in a team will be eliminated.
Known teams in testing ground 1:
Karma, Nagisa, and Sugino
Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara
Terasaka, Kurahashi, and Mr. Talking Ostrich
Megu, Okajima, and Kazuma
Known teams in testing ground 2:
Isogai, Kanzaki, and Hayami
Yada, Hazama, and Okano
Yoshida, Muramatsu, and Hara
Known teams in testing ground 3:
Mimura, Kimura, and Takebayashi
Sugaya, Fuwa, and Sachiko
Shindou, Satomi, and Kokona
Tumblr media
All the formed teams were transported to a new testing area – inside the gigantic mothership that was flying above the field they were all at before.
Chiba then gave a whole detailed rundown about the ruling class of the Tower to Nakamura, who lived somewhere in the Outer Tower (Residential Area) where many cultures normally have little to no awareness about the Royal Empire.
The Tower is currently ruled by King Daigou, who was the first to climb the Tower along with his 10 companions, who then became the Leaders/Heads of the Ten Great Families. They were Irregulars, meaning they were not chosen by Headon but instead had opened the gates to the Tower on their own. Irregulars are basically the Tower's rule-breakers, as they are unimaginably strong since they weren't restricted by the contract of a Guardian of each Floor, which is what Regulars form with them in order to be able to use the shinsu in the Floor they are in. Irregulars come in once every millennium.
It had been several ten thousands of years since King Daigou and the Ten Family Leaders had ruled over the Tower.
The Ten Families are so powerful that they rule over multiple Floors and are either affiliated or founders of certain well-known organizations. Every single descendant of these Family Leaders is blessed with strength, no matter how weak some of them are by their family's standards. Direct Descendants are especially gifted.
Though there are exceptions, the talents of these children usually depend on what their great family is known for - Akatsuki Family for their swordsmanship, Asano Family for their Light Bearers, Seo Family for their Scouts, Shimada Family for their incredible physical strength, Chiba Family for their Wave Controllers, Terushima Family for their mastery of manipulating Shinsu, Tsuchiya Family for having the strongest defensive power, Harukawa Family for their Spear Bearers and Lightning Users, Park Family for their great intellectuality with all researches about the Tower, and Yamazaki Family for their Flame Users.
Regulated by Test Administrator: Takokoro Takoro (Ranker – someone who had climbed the Tower and reached the top. They’re incredibly powerful). He brought his palm out and suddenly everyone was being pushed away by a strong current. Many have already flown towards the very back. While some managed to hold their ground for a couple seconds before the current became even stronger, thus ultimately pushing the rest of them back.
Now there's a thick water-like barrier before all of them, waiting to be crossed.
Tumblr media
As the Tower is filled with concentrated shinsu since it's basically its source of life, Regulars should be able to withstand at least a certain amount of concentration in order to ascend the floors. And so, the third elimination test will be: All members in a team must be able to pass through a barrier of high concentrated shinsu made by Takoro. If a member fails, the whole team fails.
The fourth test will be a psychological type, regulated by Test Administrator Irina Jelavic (Ranker): There are 10 identical doors in a room. Open the correct one in under 10 minutes.
Karma: "All of them looked the same to me. There’s no way to tell them apart and figure out which is the right one. So might as well ignore the first rule and just open a door in less than 10 minutes!" (Irina: “I guess that works too…)
Nakamura: "There are no ‘more’ hints..? But you haven’t given us any though."
Maehara: "Wasn’t what she just said a hint..?"
Chiba: "Uhh, those are instructions."
Nakamura: "That would only mean that the hints were already given before we even entered this place… like those unnaturally loud screams after a long time of dead silence from the inside. It was as if you were purposely letting us hear those screams and deduct something from them."
Team Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara passed the door test after figuring out the whole point of the entire test.
A short break between the continuous tests. Chiba and Kurahashi instantly clicked while getting drinks from the vending machine.
Kurahashi Hinano is a feline person – a humanoid species with feline features and abilities. They tend to be Animas. They populate all the floors that the Chiba Family rules over.
Chiba Ryuunosuke is from the family of Chiba, one of the Ten Great Families that ruled over the Tower. This great family produces the strongest Wave Controllers. They also have the highest number of members.
Because there were too many teams remaining that monitoring their abilities at the same time was becoming too difficult, a bonus test was announced to be taken before the Position Test will begin.
Bonus Test: The Crown Game. Regulated by Test Administrator Karasuma Tadaomi (Ranker). Participation is optional and losing this game doesn’t mean failing the whole floor test. However, whichever team wins are automatically cleared from the entire floor and wouldn’t have to take the remaining tests.
Every Regular from all three different testing grounds will be present in the same testing ground.
Fast forward. Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara were the team that won the bonus test. It was pure gamble in Nakamura’s part that Chiba has enough tricks up in his sleeve to prevent anyone from taking the crown from him, even if it’s Karma.
Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara were all guaranteed automatic pass from all the remaining tests and leave the 2nd floor whenever they want.
However, Chiba insisted they stay for a bit to participate in the Position Test even if they won’t actually take the test.
He predicted that Nakamura would either be sorted to the Light Bearer or Scout position and will likely received the basic lighthouse or observer for free if she at least participates in the classes.
The same case for Maehara in the Fisherman position and thus might receive a basic needle for free if he joins the classes.
There are five basic Positions in a battle: Fisherman (Frontline Combat), Light Bearer (Support and Strategy), Scout (Intel and Combat Assist), Spear Bearer (Long Range), and Wave Controller (changing tides of the battle).
Karasuma Tadaomi handles the Fisherman classes
Hanamura Hanayo handles the Light Bearer classes
Irina Jelavic handles the Scout classes
Red Eye handles the Spear Bearer classes
Tadokoro Takoro handles the Wave Controller classes
That friend list assignment that the Scouts would have to fill up in a week, which was what brought a lot of the Regulars to become friends.
Fast forward. About 20 Regulars were guaranteed to pass the Position Test with how high their results are.
Hide and Seek Test. A Ranker (but with high restrictions) will be participating along with the Regulars.
Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara, who already cleared the entire floor, can only spectate through the screen along with the Test Admins.
Luckily the team that failed was the one where most of the members have high scores in the Position Test, so not too many actually failed the floor.
Final Results were out and plenty have actually failed because some were too injured and some just weren’t competent enough overall.
The Final 2nd Floor Test was a team test, where the remaining Regulars must form a team of their own and take a certain test. It’s either that team passes or not.
4 teams were formed and thus, there will be 4 different tests: a Scavenger Hunt Test, a Lost and Found Test, a Zombie Test, and a Heaven and Hell Test.
3 out of 4 formed teams cleared their respective tests.
An official registration of teams was announced. Line-up changes in teams were made. There is also the option of not choosing a team to join in yet, of course.
Chiba, Nakamura, and Maehara were now included. Team END was formed and registered.
2nd Floor cleared.
They met Okuda Manami on the 3rd Floor.
Yukimura Akari joined Team END at the 5th Floor.
Chiba Ryuunosuke failed to clear the 8th Floor and would have to retake it after 6 months. He insisted Team END not to waste time waiting for him when they could just continue climbing, since he can surely form his own team and easily catch up to them.
Team END arrived at the 10th Floor.
Karma heard about an informant who is supposedly very strong but for some reason chooses to stay at the 10th floor for centuries.
He had plans to recruit said informant into joining Team END but was also curious about why they chose to stay at the 10th floor for so long.
Being a Princess of Daigou is a very big deal, as they are granted a portion of the King’s power, making them even more powerful, and a great amount of authority in the Tower – be it a high position in the empire, access to even the most powerful weapons, or even granted the opportunity to rule a whole Floor to themselves.
Princesses are already extremely strong when in battle that even a single Regular Princess can possibly take down all the other 400 Regulars by herself in a death match. Meanwhile, Princess Candidates, especially the ones who had nearly won their title, are not that much weaker compared to the already selected Princesses.
Ranker and High Ranker Princesses would be unimaginably strong. Two High Ranker Princesses from the Terushima and Yamazaki Families were so strong that they even outranked the majority of the Ten Great Family Leaders in the Tower Rankings (tied at Rank 7th), even if the Princess from the Yamazaki Family had been missing for millennia.
A Princess is selected and born every 300-500 years. They usually come from the Ten Families, but in a rare case would a strong woman from a less noble family would overpower her competitors and win her place.
Tsuchiya Kaho (Position: Light Bearer-Defender hybrid) was the strongest candidate of the previous Princess Selection over 300 years ago, after Chiba Rena Daigou who then became the selected Princess of that time.
Karma attempted to recruit Kaho but was solidly declined.
Kaho remarked that she would’ve considered joining them if the rumoured remarkable Spear Bearer from the Chiba Family was still travelling with them.
Karma instead just requested information about the 10th floor test’s details, which Kaho happily scheduled a meeting with Team END in a couple of days.
Kaho came by the dorm that Team END was staying at. Nagisa opened the door and was about to greet her but remained frozen due to how incredibly powerful the shinsu Kaho was casually exerting.
Maehara stiffened at the sight of Kaho, or specifically, the emerald jewel that was on her hairband. Kaho of course noticed him, even if Maehara didn’t realize it.
Barely minutes after Kaho walked inside their shared apartment, she was already giving pointers to some of the Team END members: like how Hayami would need to have observers instead of a Defender, how the Light Bearers in their team would need to do more snooping to get all the information they need, or the fact that a Light Bearer’s lighthouse can actually amplify a Wave Controller’s baang to make them more powerful and lethal, and etc.
Kaho then specifically called out to Maehara, who flinched.
Kaho: “Even if you have shit control over your lightning shinsu, you can still be flexible enough with how you infuse it onto the weapons you use. Heck, you just have to be flexible with the very weapons that you use and then infuse your lightning onto them. The results may vary but it’ll be fruitful at least.”
Hara served her tea and brought her some sweets, which Kaho highly appreciated.
Kaho then got a sudden call and took it. Team END could only watch nervously as she blows into anger at the caller.
Kaho: “You failed to use your observer to collect such vital information mid battle, even though you claimed to be really good at multi-tasking..? Gosh you’re the most useless Scout I have ever encountered in the near 400 years of my life!”
Kaho: “I’ve had high expectations of you since the Seo Family were known for their talented Scouts and yet you’ve only shown incompetence… I’m starting to believe that the unremarkable male descendants’ syndrome isn’t just limited to the Chiba Family…”
Kaho: “Since you’ve failed from giving me actual data in exchange for floor test Intel, your team is not allowed to leave this floor until I get my 20,000 points payment. Got it?”
After the phone call ended, Okajima asked Kaho about the data gathering assignment she gives to Scouts.
Kaho then explained that there’s a way to receive floor test info from her without having to pay her points for it, and it’s to take the 10th Floor test and retrieve important battle data that Kaho can use as more floor test intel.
Kaho: “You know? Info for info? But naturally, a mere floor test info isn’t just gonna pay up all the Intel you’re gonna get from me. This is just in case you don’t have enough points to pay.”
Not long after, Kaho began relaying information about the 10th Floor test to Team END, sending data to everyone’s pockets, lighthouses, and observers. The more detailed info they want, the higher Kaho will raise the price.
Team END wanted to know the vital weakness of the divine sea creature that they will deal with at the final 10th floor test, but Kaho said the price for that info is very expensive since it would guarantee a floor test clearing.
Naturally, the prize was really expensive that Team END was reconsidering.
But Kaho suggested that they won’t have to pay her points for that vital information if they instead give her as much information they can give about a certain remarkable Spear Bearer from the Chiba Family. Information such as his skills, abilities, background, and… personality.
And so they did, and they got the floor test info they need.
Okajima still insisted that he’ll attempt to look for more useful info about the 10th floor test to give to her. Kaho promised that she’ll return the appropriate amount of points to Team END if he managed to retrieve that data.
He got that data and Team END cleared the 10th Floor with flying colours. Soon after, they went to the 11th Floor, leaving Kaho behind.
The Tower’s Administration Office announced the names of the Regulars who had died while taking floor tests.
One of those names includes Harukawa Kiriya, one of the direct sons of the Harukawa Family Leader, who had died while taking the 10th Floor Test.
Kaho smirks while reading the announcement from her lighthouse.
Kaho: “I told him not to do it since it can get him killed but that arrogance never fails to leave their systems, huh? Now look where that got him. Such a distasteful family indeed.”
She then made a call to Tsuchiya Hibiki, a relative of hers, while going through the opened files on her lighthouse.
Kaho: “One of the few teams that recently cleared this floor just now is called Team END. They have a member named Maehara Hiroto and he’s clearly an illegitimate descendant from the Harukawa Family.”
She quickly sent a file to Hibiki, which is likely accessible information about Maehara, including his photo.
Kaho: “His lightning shinsu may be as strong as a direct Harukawa descendant’s but he lacks control over it and he’s not a Spear Bearer, so he likely isn’t affiliated with that family.”
Kaho: “But just in case, I want you to keep an eye on him until he’s out of our family’s territories. If he shows any suspicions that suggests his affiliation towards that family, let me know about it immediately. I’ll hunt him down myself.”
Surprised, Hibiki asked if Kaho is finally going to start climbing the Tower again.
Kaho: “The current missing princess’s remarkable younger brother is said to be finally arriving. I will be accompanying him from then on.”
Meanwhile, being a member of Julia’s team, Ryuunosuke had just arrived at the 10th Floor.
Chiba: “Ahh I hope I didn’t make her wait for too long…”
Kaho and Chiba had reunited ever since Kaho had been selected as a Regular over 300 years ago.
Kaho then officially joined Julia’s team. But since she had already climbed until the 20th Floor, she wasn’t allowed to take all the upcoming floor tests with the team until they’ve arrived at the 20th floor.
Privately, Kaho advised Chiba to tell Maehara to stop flinching or even just freeze at the sight of any Tsuchiya, since it’ll likely just get him in trouble more than anything. It’s already bad that he looks so much like a Harukawa, illegitimate descendant or not, so it’s advisable to stop flinching whenever he sees a Tsuchiya since it’ll make him look suspicious. Most especially since the Tsuchiya Family rules all over the 16th-29th Floors and thus, those floors are heavily populated by Tsuchiya descendants.
Kaho: “You said that his mother was a Regular who had stopped climbing, right? And that he lived at both the Inner Tower (Regular’s Area) and Middle Area (gate between the Inner and Outer Tower) of the 67th Floor? That suggests that he had nothing to do with the Harukawa Family so he should be safe enough… unless he actually met his father, that is.
Chiba: “He said he never met him. He wasn’t told of what exactly happened but from what he told me, his father supposedly left right before he was born.”
Kaho: “I don’t know what his mother warned him about us for him to freeze at the sight of me, but he’s completely safe if he’s got nothing to do with his father then. While we would still keep watch just in case, the Tsuchiya family don’t really bother with illegitimate Harukawa descendants, let alone kill them.”
Kaho: “Our goal was to not reduce the ever-growing Harukawa population, but rather strip them off their power. Specifically, those who become Rankers with the intention of sharing that power and influence to the Harukawa family as they bear their name.”
Kaho: “Ryuunosuke, your goal was to become a High Ranker, no?”
Chiba: “Yeah, and I feel like that’s also what my family expects from me.”
Kaho: “Naturally, because that would make you the first ever male descendant in your family to become a High Ranker. Since it’s such a big deal, everyone’s eyes are going to be on you if you were to achieve that and I wouldn’t be surprised if your family’s going to milk the hell out of the attention you’d be getting and benefit from it… just like what they did when Rena first became a Princess of Daigou.”
Chiba: “Ugh… that one lasted for years. It doesn’t help that both of our parents are Rankers, heck my mom’s a High Ranker, so even that was bragged about and made it into the headlines!”
Kaho: “Tell me about it… The Harukawa family’s no different for that matter. Shit, I think they’re even worse.”
Chiba: “Oh they’re definitely worse.”
Kaho: “With that thought in mind, if an illegitimate descendant has plans to join the Harukawa family when they’re becoming a Ranker or close to becoming one, that’s when we get rid of them. If your dear friend shows no such interest even after he had climbed so far high up, our family will definitely leave him alone. So don’t worry too much.”
The hatred between the Tsuchiya and Harukawa Families was so strong that killing and assassinating is even involved. Tsuchiya Kaho was promised to be fully forgiven by the entire Tsuchiya Family for failing to become a Daigou Princess if she managed to kill at least one member of the Harukawa Family on her own throughout her climb at the Tower.
The Harukawa Family was infamous for the womanizing tendencies of their male descendants, a reminiscent of their Family Head, Harukawa Izaki, who had many wives. Thus, it’s no surprise that not only does the Harukawa Family has the highest number of existing Family Branches, they’ve also produced the highest number of illegitimate children.
The main reason why the Tsuchiya Family made it their life mission to kill any Harukawa who shows potential or even interest to climb the top of the Tower was to forcibly make the Harukawa Family lose their power and influence by reducing the number of Rankers they will have despite their large number of descendants.
The Harukawa Family also has the same goal but are less successful at achieving it. This is because although they have high attacking power and lethality rate, every single Tsuchiya descendant, direct or not, were all born with incredibly high defensive power that only the most talented Great Family children can break through.
The only reason why the Harukawa Family had never surpassed the Chiba Family in terms of having the greatest number of children was because descendants of their family were actively being killed by certain members of the Tsuchiya Family, which also regulates their population.
Bearing the Tsuchiya Family crest meant being strong and brave enough to carry the burden of the family’s both good and wrongdoings. The crest is immediately obtained when a Tsuchiya successfully killed at least one Harukawa descendant. The crest is an emerald jewel that was attached on any accessory according to the bearer’s personal choice (e.g. Kaho’s hairband). Very few people outside the Tsuchiya Family are aware that a crest-bearing Tsuchiya meant that they have killed a Harukawa.
Maehara was one of those very few people who knew, hence why he froze at the sight of Kaho and her hairband.
Sometime later, Chiba called Team END to give each other updates about their respective progresses.
A little after that, Chiba privately called Maehara and told him what Kaho had warned and reassured him about.
Maehara: “Fuck, so she does know!”
Chiba: “Dude, you look like the typical Harukawa offspring. That yellow lightning isn’t helping either. So is being a playboy.”
The climb resumes.
Julia’s Team:
Nagasawa Julia
Okamoto Akeboshi
Kazukata Shindou
Akatsuki Seria Daigou
Ookuwa Sachiko
Tanaka Kazuma
Mori Mitsuki
Seo Hinagiku
Chiba Ryuunosuke
Tsuchiya Kaho
Kitazawa Ayaka
Park Jungyoon “Masato”
Fukiyose Eiji
Kanemoto Shiori
Tersuhima Daisuke
Shimada Miho
Julia’s team made it to the 20th floor. But because of how the 20th floor tests work, they have to be separated into much smaller teams.
Team DREAM was then formed.
Ryuunosuke, Kaho, Ayaka, Masato, Eiji, Shiori, Daisuke, and Miho
Realizing that a large-member team was just going to hinder them in the future with the way how some floor tests are done, it was decided that the split teams will begin travelling separately.
There were no complaints that Team DREAM consists of 5 different descendants from the great families since Julia’s Team is travelling with a Daigou Princess.
There's the Regulars Ranking which is dependent on what Floor one is on.
F-Rank Regular – those who come into the Tower on the 2nd Floor
E-Rank Regular – those who cleared the 20th Floor
D-Rank Regular – those who cleared the 30th Floor
C-Rank Regular – those who cleared the 50th Floor
B-Rank Regular – those who cleared the 75th Floor
A-Rank Regular – those who cleared the 100th Floor
After clearing the 20th Floor, both Julia’s Team and Team DREAM have become E-Rank Regulars.
Yamazaki Miki officially joined Team DREAM after the 21st Floor Test.
Team END encountered Team ACE at the 16th Floor and was furious that they failed to clear the floor because of them.
Chiba: “O-oh... the 16th Floor you say?”
Nakamura: “What floor are you on now?”
Chiba: “…the 25th Floor.”
Nakamura: “…Ryuunosuke.”
Chiba: “Yeah?”
Nakamura: “The plan was for you to catch up to us… not the other way around.”
Chiba: “...So I’m figuring out a way to persuade my family into getting us a large enough place to house us all at the 30th Floor when we arrive there. If everything worked out, you know where to look for me ahaha…
Team DREAM rushed to the 30th Floor in order to compete at the 30F Workshop Battle, which is an item tournament held for E-Rank Regulars at the Middle Area in every 5 years, with exclusive items made by the Workshop as prizes.
Almost all items and weapons of the Tower are made in the Workshop. Although there's a location on the Middle Area of each Floor, there are only 7 main headquarters and one of them is on the 30th Floor.
The Chiba Family rules all over the floors with the 7 main Workshops, including the 30th Floor.
Chiba Ryuunosuke plans to win the quinquennial Workshop Battle as a way to convince his family into doing a favour for him rightfully.
Chiba: “I may be one of the rarest sons that the Chiba Family have ever produced, having similar privileges as all of my sisters and all, but that doesn’t mean I’d just get everything that I want on a silver platter. And so I thought… If I did something favourable for my family, they might abide by my requests no matter how absurd they can be.”
Kaho: “A favour for a favour..?”
Chiba: “Yep! A favour for a favour.”
Kaho: “Huh. Knowing more and more about your family is starting to make me think that we’re not all that different in the long run.”
Chiba: “Hah. All the Ten Great Families are all just the same from the very beginning… though ours are particularly messed up. Perhaps that’s why there’s a growing alliance going on between them.”

I’m her adopted sister!!
Okay so fun fact: I actually thought of this be a story with chapters. But for now i’m going to make a little salt fic of it, focus on the MariJon fic and then once it’s completed i’ll work on it.
Marinette loved Jasmine, she is Jasmine’s little sister... Well not really, Jasmine was adopted into the family at the age of three, Sabine and Tom had been trying hard to have a child and failed badly so they adopted Jasmine to care for... But only two years later when she was five they found out they were going to have a child.
They were shocked when they told her, no she wasn’t sad because they would love this baby more than her, no she wasn’t angry either in fact she just told them she was fine with it if they sent her back now that they would have a child, which wasn’t happening at all no matter what she thought, they kept her and called her there daughter even if she wasn’t related to them by blood... Making her happy to be part of a family.
She helped the whole time, in the bakery, with Sabine when she needed rest, baking (making her then create her own little popular sweets that only come out in limited amounts for a day and sell fast) she cleaned and even helped set things up for her little sister... And then Marinette Dupain-Cheng was born, Jasmine held her while sitting in a chair making Tom and Sabine see clearly that the girl was going to be protective of her dear little sister which made them have her promise to care for her.
Now years later, Jasmine left there home, sure she came back once a month for a week to make her limited baked good but that was to also see her family and enjoy some time with them before she leaves again to do her own thing in life, of course there would be times when she wouldn’t be able to be back for certain events but she still sent postcards to let them know how she was doing while being away from them... Mari sometimes worried her sister wouldn’t be back someday because she died.
Then she became Ladybug...
It was by accident, Jasmine had sent them a postcard of when she was coming back but the post office failed to deliver it (they delivered it to Adrien’s place by mistake and have yet to deliver it to them once they got it back) because of this Jas walked into Mari’s room as she detransformed... Making the hero have much to explain to her sister and parents (Jasmine told their parents) because of this there parents worked hard to help Mari leave to transform and save Paris from an akuma.
And then Lila Rossi entered their lives...
She was a liar that much was obvious, but no one in class seemed to care about finding out the truth, she still remembered the day she made a presentation for the school about her sister’s book work and Lila pulled them all (except Chloe) to leave claiming she knew everything about Jasmine, then when came the results of the test miss Bustier made them all retake it because they failed completely on Jasmine... And instead of going to Mari to ask to show them her presentation... They turned to Lila to explain why what she said ended up being wrong... With only Marinette and Chloe having amazing results.
They ended up failing the test two more times before their teacher forced them to listen to Mari’s presentation for the lesson instead of there usual lesson, what was worse was that Lila claimed she helped Mari do this presentation (which Bustier heard and was disappointed for them to not ask Mari) because of this while some (Max, Adrien and Sabrina) passed the others still were under the needed grade but principal Damocles gave up on them and made there final grade... Making parents call and visit to demand answers on the grade.
Chloe was furious at them for not even talking to Mari the whole time for help on the whole thing and simply listened to Lila... Not even Adrien helped and simply smiled and sided with Lila, they were just done with it all as Chloe had Mari, Kagami and Luka come to her hotel to celebrate their grades with junk food and movies for the night, they didn’t care if Lila claimed Mari made them mess up on purpose because there teacher would schooled them for not being there for the presentation in the first place so it fell down the drain quickly.
When Mari’s birthday came, Jas made her go around parts of Paris that to them would be special (the hospital she was born in and places they had fun at) when Mari came back to the bakery with her three friends... Lila watched her hug Jasmine who called Mari her little sister, she hated her even more and then began forming a plan to make the class hate there class president enough to want her to step down.
It took some time but then it happened “Why isn’t Mari asking if my measurements changed!? She should be asking for them by now!” Alya said, Adrien was about to speak as Nino tried to calm her down when Lila began “She must be getting ready for her sister visiting” she claimed making them all turn to her in surprise “I saw her once a few months ago, I wasn’t sure about it until she called Mari her “little sis” so it surprised me” she explained making them all talk to one another about this sister.
Alya was beyond pissed, some friend Mari was... Not even telling her about a sister, because of this sister she wasn’t going to get a new dress for the party Lila was having... So much for trying to have Mari be able to come to the party by secretly making the dress for Lila to wear, this just shows how much of a bad person Mari really was “I tried talking to her about Mari, but she threw water at me and pulled her sister inside while calling me a bitch” she explained making them all grow pissed at Marinette “After school, were going to confront her at the bakery” Alya decided making them all nod.
But it didn’t happen with the class...
Ivan, Rose and Juleka had to go to band practice, Max had to work on a new game he was developing, Alix and Kim had practice, Nathaniel had to meet up with Mark for there comic, Sabrina and Mylène were going to a movie, Nino had to take care of his little brother, Adrien had a photoshoot and Chloe was who knows where... Leaving Alya and Lila to see Marinette for her actions, Lila was fake crying and Alya was telling her how they would all be friends in the end... And then Lila gasped while looking at someone heading for the bakery, the girl looked five years older than them and was weirdly dressed meaning she wasn’t from Paris... But she scared Lila “She’s from a gang, the tattoo there is on every gang members... She must be going to the bakery to kill them or something” she lied making Alya quickly call the police.
In a matter of seconds the police were there cuffing Jasmine who was demanding answers as Alya smiled with Lila at how they were hero’s “LET MY DAUGHTER GO!!” Sabine shouted as she and Tom ran out with Mari right behind them “Why are you arresting my sister!? The mayor told you my sister was to be never arrested!!” she claimed making their eyes widen as Chloe came out angry at the police and demanding answers “Miss Alya Cesaire called us claiming she was a member of a gang from her tattoo” an officer explained making them all turn to Alya who stood there panicked “That is no gang tattoo” Kagami said as she walked over “It’s a japanese kanji that means love, a gang tattoo would be known to the police all around the world” she explained making the police glare at the girl.
Alya was then yelled at by Sabine and Tom, Mari was demanding with Chloe for answers, Kagami and Luka were helping Jasmine inside while the police were calling it in as a fake call “But Lila-” she turned to where the Italian was but... She was gone and that left Alya to suffer “Lila said she was from a gang! She was scared because she knew about the tattoo she had!” she explained making Chloe sigh “Lila lied to you, Jasmine got that tattoo just recently because she wanted one for years! And like Kagami said if it was a gang tattoo it would have been in a list for the police to look over and see how dangerous the gang is” she explained as the police forced her in there car to be driven home... While Lila watched the whole thing from her hiding spot.
Alya was brought into her home as the police gave them the fine Alya would need to pay for the call she put in making her parents shut down her blog, take away all of her stuff, ground her, no dates with Nino and she would need to babysit her sister’s until she paid the fine... She was not happy, it takes her months to pay it but her friends all helped a bit to only take a few months, but she brought up Lila each time “She told me the girl was from a gang! But that was Mari’s sister! There was no gang and Lila just left me to be punished!” each time she spoke this her friends tried to defend Lila and bring up how the girl would do something in return.
But slowly they began to believe Alya more... And hate Lila slowly that not even Adrien could fix it, instead he kept quiet knowing full well that Lila was going to be akumatized all because Mari never told them about her sister in the first place, he tried talking to her but her trio of friends forced him away and in class miss Bustier forced him to focus on the lesson or to stay with his team saying he couldn’t change teams (he always wanted to be teamed up with Mari or be in her team to talk) she did this because she knew about the incident at the bakery and what Adrien told Mari about Lila’s lies and was furious with him... She warned the other teachers and principal so they knew Lila lied.
Then Mari didn’t come into class, it was odd but wasn’t something new because the girl was often late for class... But then she came in with a woman “Class, please pay attention” there teacher said making them look “Everyone, I want you all to meet my sister Jasmine Dupain-Cheng... The famous author I spoke about during my presentation” Mari said making their eyes widen to her words as the girl smiled to them... And then glared at Alya “I remember you” she said making them all turn to Alya “You almost got me arrested because you thought my tattoo was from a gang!” she shouted making them all look to be shocked as Alya spoke “Lila said you were! She claimed your tattoo was from a gang and claimed you were going to kill them or worse!” she countered making them all turn to Lila.
“That’s not true!” she countered making them all confused “I headed home because my mom wasn’t doing well and I wanted to help her! So I couldn’t have claimed that!” she explained making them all turn to Alya “Alya, go to the principal’s office with Lila to talk about all of this” miss Bustier spoke making them stand... And leave with Alya glaring at Lila, Mari explained things about her sister before Alya and Lila came back and sat down to listen to Jasmine “I was adopted into the Dupain-Cheng family when I was three. They never thought to be able to have a child so they adopted me, but only two years later Mari came into our lives and I grew up caring for her” she began to explain making Chloe smile remembering that story.
“As time went on, Mari and I began to discover our own passions. Her’s was fashion and mine was writing stories, with time I began to do what I love and began to have success in my work... So I left Paris to travel and write more about what I love making me known for my work” she continued making them all listen to the story, Alya wasn’t doing that... Instead she was looking next to her as Lila smiled at the fact Alya was being punished for her actions and not Lila “Of course I come home once a month for a week, I couldn’t leave my family forever so i’ll come back each time to see them when I can... Sometimes more then a week if i’m lucky” she said making Mari giggle.
“I’ll come back each time with a gift for Mari from my travels and will hang out with her to know how she’s doing in class, at home and even with her dream” she explained making them all get interested with this story as Adrien wondered more about this girl “Sometimes, i’ll be asked to work with someone in something else then books. Like movies, TV shows, fashion and other things and... Sometimes i’ll accept but most of the time I refuse because it’s out of my comfort zone” she said making them wonder what was out of her comfort zone in the first place.
Jasmine kept talking a bit more before allowing the class to ask her some questions, some were about books she wrote and what got her to write them, others asked if a certain collection will soon get the next book out soon, then there were some asking about something she spoke about in her life then there was Adrien and Lila “What are things you didn’t work in?” the model asked making Jas look at him for a moment “Fashion really, anything with a photoshoot for clothes, shoes or anything really I just refuse because it does nothing for me” she explained making him think she was just being a baby and was just about to speak until Lila cut him off “Why did you keep yourself hidden from us until now?” she asked making her look at Lila confused.
“Hidden? I was never hidden from anyone” she explained as Caline tried to make someone ask another question “But Mari never spoke to us about you. So why only bring you up now?” Lila asked making Jas look at her with anger “Mari can talk about what she wants to who she wants... And it’s easy to tell you were someone she didn’t want to talk to and talk about me to” she said making Lila look at her in shock as there teacher ended the whole thing and allowed Jas and Mari to head home as she began her lesson, but Lila wasn’t done “Is it because you were disappointed in your own sister? I know I would be if I had Marinette who bullies me for a sister” she claimed and that made Jasmine snap.
She went towards Lila with a menacing glare, Mari worried what her sister might do while there teacher hoped it wouldn’t cost her job as then Jasmine grabbed Lila by the collar of her shirt making the students freak out “Now listen here bitch! You don’t know us at all so don’t go claiming something like that!” she said making Lila look at her with true fear “You listen good cause i’m only saying this once... Do this again, hurt my sister, insult her, get her in trouble or even someone hurts her because of you... And i’ll make sure you lose everything!” she said making Lila quickly nod as she was then dropped “That goes for all of you!” she said as she pointed to everyone in the class (but Caline and Chloe) and then she walked out... Without noticing the purple butterfly coming her way.
She was akumatized into Guardian who had the power to destroy someone’s life if they got into contact with her attacks... It was the hardest battle Ladybug and Cat Noir ever had (cause the cat wasn’t even there!?) so Ladybug had to call in BumbleBee (Chloe) Viperion and Arashi (Kagami) to help (there the new names they gave themselves with new looks) and defeated Guardian soon, of course Jasmine was sorry but Ladybug told her it was natural to be akumatized, Alya tried to get an interview but BumbleBee stopped her with Arashi who told her that they would never give her an interview.
Once at the bakery, the group of friends spoke together as Mari gave her sister the fox miraculous (when Mari brought in the Miracle box, Trixx claimed she sensed someone compatible with her who doesn’t come here often and once when Jasmine came to visit, when she left Trixx told Mari her sister was compatible) Jasmine became Kitsune and together they became an amazing team, of course Cat Noir was taken out of the team and his miraculous was handed to someone else and very soon the city of Paris no longer had Hawkmoth or Mayura to fear now that they were defeated.
Paris was safe... For now

#43. Students: Our MCAS Stories, Continued
Editor’s note: This is the third of three installments of MCAS stories by 10th grade geometry teacher Sarah Cramer’s students at Claremont Academy in Worcester. To read Sarah’s introduction, see story #41, below.
Tumblr media
I and many others have been taking MCAS for as long as we can remember, but why? And most importantly, why does it have to be a graduation requirement. We work our butts off in school, and you’re telling me MCAS determines if we graduate or not? If you ask me, that just doesn't seem right. But not just that, imagine giving MCAS in a global pandemic. How did no one stop this? We have spent a whole year in our houses in fear for ourselves and loved ones because of what's going on. We’ve been taking school online, looking at a screen for hours, pushing to get things done. Was it easy? NO! Were there times I couldn't? YES! But did we keep going? Of course, because a lot of us care. But to be honest, I didn't learn much and the fact that I had to take this big required test in a school year where I learned nothing honestly makes me sad, mad and kind of disappointed. We should have just gotten a pass, in my opinion, and not have to be obligated to go to a school in the middle of a pandemic just to take a test. To me and many others, it just doesn't make sense. Like why risk my health for that when I know I most likely failed, for the simple reason that I learned nothing this year? It's not the teachers’ fault; it's just the lack of motivation and understanding for me. With everything considered, MCAS should not be a requirement to graduate because it doesn't show what we truly have learned and been through to get where we are now, and it should never happen again. - Marben Canas Cruz
These tests are pointless. We’re already learning things that we'll never have to use in normal everyday life. Now we have a test where it's still pointless. The school system divides the students. I've known people who say they're going to drop out of school, and a reason they give is the MCAS and its irrelevance. It stresses people out because if you don't pass, you need to retake it just to graduate high school. But fail it so many times, and you may want to drop out. This affects our personal life. I can go home and be studying but getting stressed out and taking out my frustration on others. Some of us work and have jobs because not every family in Massachusetts is living well. Some have to work more than even your 15- to 17-year-old child has to work and help out. MCAS is pointless, especially when it's not fair. - Oscar Almendarez
I don´t think MCAS should be counted for graduation, or should even happen at all. This year was completely different from other years because of the pandemic. Students had to quickly adapt to a homeschool lifestyle when learning was only remote. We had to struggle with being away from friends and not being able to socialize (which is incredibly important for teenagers). Many students are struggling with keeping up with their work because of all of these new changes. Instead of giving them more stress with the MCAS, the state should focus on providing relief during the pandemic (with technology, school supplies, food pantries, COVID vaccination sites).
I think that MCAS is a bit stressful. You have to prepare yourself, concentrate on what you write and if the answer is correct or not. I think that MCAS should not influence your graduation because it is very difficult to know if you could pass the test. MCAS should not have been given this year because it was very difficult and different from other years. You had to do it with great caution and, besides this, the pandemic is quite difficult. I think that MCAS would be better if they don't put pressure on you to pass and be able to graduate. In some parts, it could be good because if you have pressure you can put more interest and be able to pay more attention to things in class.
Last year and this were a little different and difficult, not only for me but for other people. I had to attend classes from my home and do work from my home. For me the MCAS did not have to happen because COVID happened worldwide. It did not have to happen because we worked at home, which is something more difficult than in person.
I have been taking the MCAS since elementary school, so I was used to it. The test really didn't bother me that much because it was on paper. Once we started doing the MCAS over the computer, that's when I started having a problem. Being forced to keep your eyes on a screen for hours is not for me. After I got out of elementary school, my scores went down. I would rush because my eyes could not take it anymore. We are not given a paper test option, which I think is unreasonable. Everyone tests differently. I believe the MCAS should be optional, or mandatory for children that actually need to be tested for a decision of having them graduate. - Monaeya Andrade
I personally don't think that it was fair that we had to do the MCAS testing because, throughout the year, I feel I didn't learn as much as I would have in a regular class, in person. I have heard my teachers even say it. I haven't learned much this year, and I wish I learned more. Taking the test was nerve wracking, knowing that I had to take the MCAS and pass in order to graduate. The pandemic was a big mess, and that messed us all up. However, it's not fair that we teens have to stress and struggle to be successful in the future and find colleges. I think that they should at least lower the test scores to pass. - Jaidan
The MCAS came at a bad time. Many of the kids in my class and school were all saying we are not ready for this test. We felt as if we missed so much and fell behind on many fronts. Even our teachers were against it, but we were ignored. It was a pointless test in a miserable, stressful year.
I don't think it should be counted at all this year. It's not fair for us to take it when we never went to school (but the juniors aren't required to). A lot of people weren't prepared, and I don't think many people will have good scores. It would affect us badly, as it's a graduation requirement.
I think it shouldn't be a test to prove if a student should graduate. It causes a ton of stress (on top of the pandemic). Some students are visual learners, and some just got the hang of this online school.
The MCAS is boring because you need to look at a screen all day.
I think this MCAS 2021 should not be counted for graduation because we don't learn too much with remote learning. For some people, it was difficult to connect with the teachers and classmates, and we couldn’t have the same help like before the pandemic. - Maria
I feel like we shouldn't even have done the MCAS since we haven't had enough time to study or learn the things we are supposed to. However, some kids (the 11th graders) do not even have to do the test and pass it. This just shows that the school system is messed up and doesn't know how to keep a stable economy.
Although I have very strong opinions against MCAS, I do think that Worcester public schools should've kept the testing this year. But I think the purpose behind it shouldn't be what it is. For example, the reason I think that Worcester public schools should've used this test this year is to find out where students are at in the school system, especially since COVID-19 happened and caused students to miss out on school for over 18 months. But instead, they made it mandatory for high school students to have to pass in order to graduate.
I feel like they shouldn't have given us the MCAS because we didn't learn anything or get reminded of old work to help us. And I think it shouldn't be a requirement to pass high school.
Why do we take MCAS? It was hard for other people to learn this year. Also a lot of people had difficult times. For example, their wifi could've been bad. Also a lot of people didn't learn anything.
MCAS this year was kind of BS. There was stuff that we most likely didn't know, especially in the first math MCAS. It had stuff that we definitely should've had an idea of, but we didn't know because it was harder to be productive during the pandemic. I remember opening the test and being genuinely annoyed that I had to learn what I had to solve at the same time.
I think MCAS shouldn't have happened because people haven't learned much online vs. in person school. School is just not the same when you are learning online. For example, people can cheat and they won't learn much. Furthermore, most people are usually asleep during online school, which affects their education toward MCAS. One last detail is the fact that teachers can't tell if their students are confused, which makes it harder to teach or prepare their students.
I feel as if it shouldn't have happened because this year was very confusing and not everyone was prepared for it. It shouldn't be counted towards graduation. A lot of kids have put in a lot of effort and still struggled and that could mess them up for graduation. - Robert Cortorreal
MCAS should not continue this year because students have not been present for the entire year. Students have been stressed and overwhelmed with work and their own problems. MCAS would just add more stress. Also, some students don't have a quiet place at home so they can focus and give it their all. Some students might be able to go to school and take it; others can’t because they might still be afraid of COVID-19. That is why MCAS should not continue this year.

The boys decide to play a drinking game with Z2 as their victim, it doesn’t end well.
Disclaimer: These are @deluxewhump OC’s not mine. It takes place in the same universe but it’s not necessarily ‘canon’ and might diverge from the story a bit. Also the characters Brian and Jared I made up just to be side characters, it was easier than calling them frat boy #1 and frat boy #2.
You'd think finals week wouldn't be that big of a deal in a frat house but when that time came at the end of the semester, everything dissolved into chaos. Z noticed a shift in atmosphere immediately. The guys left him alone more, having no time to mess around with him. But when he did see them they were unusually tense and hostile. Z found himself shrinking under their presence. Even Alex and Dominic were irritable with him but he could tell that they were just stressed and tired.
"Bro, since when did you care about political science?" Jared asked.
"Look man, if I don't ace this final I'm gonna fail the whole class and have to retake it." Brian explained.
"So?"
"So college costs money dickwad, now go away, I need to focus."
The frat boy rolled his eyes and left the room, trying to find someone else to drink with no doubt. He almost ran into Z2, forcing Z to jump back and slam into the wall. He glared at him. "Watch where you're going."
"Sorry," he mumbled.
"Hey Z, are you out there?" Brian called out from his room having heard them talking. "Come in here."
Z2 entered slowly, coming to stand a few feet away from the desk as he awaited more instructions. Brian shuffled some papers around looking for something in the mess of books, journals, and packets.
"You're gonna help me study," he said, finally finding a stack of notecards hidden under a textbook. "Ok so you read the question on the card and I'll guess the answer which is right below it, see?" Z nodded.
"Wait... can you even read?" He asked suddenly.
"I don't know... I guess," Z said. It was difficult for him to do but this was a direct request from one of his masters. His training waged an internal battle with him. He was supposed to forget all that and not know anything, it was part of keeping him dependent. But Brian asked him for help so he has to try.
"Guess we'll find out, first question."
Z2 sat down on the floor next to the bed and looked at the first question. "Um, who is the leader of the house of re-represent..atives," he stumbled over the last word. An internal block in his head throbbed as he said the words but he forced himself to do it.
"Nancy Pelosi."
"Yes," Z2 flipped to the next card, "How many c-cabinets does the president have?" He asked, brows furrowing in confusion. What does it matter how many cabinets there are in the kitchen...? He looked at the answer and a little note written off to the side trying to make sense of it.
"14."
"This says 15," Z responded, a little afraid to contradict him. "There's a note."
"Okay what does it say?" Brian asked.
"15, including the vice president."
"Right, right.. I forgot. Continue."
"What is the order of the presidential line of... s-sus-se...." Z2 tried to sound out the final word. He was completely at a loss for how it should be pronounced or even what it meant. He glanced up to see that Brian was in fact looking down on him like he was a total idiot.
Z thought he'd been doing pretty well so far but now he just felt like quitting.
"Well what are you waiting for?" He teased. "What's the question?"
"What is the order of-"
"Yeah I got that part," he clipped. "This is bullshit anyway."
Z stared down at the ground in front of him feeling like he'd failed. Can't even read some stupid cards.
Brian twisted back and forth in his wheely chair deep in thought, "I have an idea that could make this a lot more fun," Brian smiled mischievously. "Let's play a game. Every time you get to a word you can't read you take a drink."
The door opened wider and the same guy from earlier poked his head in. "Did I hear the word drink?"
"Were you waiting out there the whole time? God, Jared, you're such an alcoholic." Brian said.
"I just happened to be passing by, but, I think I like the sound of this. I'll go grab my biology homework, he won't last the night." Jared laughed.
Brian rubbed at his face with annoyance before conjuring up a bottle of vodka seemingly out of thin air. He set in down in front of Z2 and unscrewed the cap. "Take a sip for the one you already missed."
Z picked it up reluctantly. He hated it when they made him drink. Bringing the bottle to his lips he made a sour face as the foul liquid splashed his throat.
"You call that a sip?" Brian said, tilting the bottle further. More vodka poured into his mouth and Z had no choice but to drink it. When Brian took his hand off the bottle Z2 set it down quickly. The taste made him want to throw it right back up and the burn spread all the way into his lungs. He was still sputtering when Jared came back with his own study materials.
"Where were we?" Brian asked, nodding towards the notecards.
Z picked them back up hastily, looking for the one he had just read. "Uh, line of su-sess.."
"Line of succession," he corrected, "President, Vice president, speaker of the house, president something something of the senate, then the federal department heads." Brian answered. As he said the answer out loud Z matched it up with the words on the card, not really reading them.
"Hey let's alternate." Jared suggested. Brian didn't look at all happy to share his study buddy, but whatever, alternating questions would just confuse Z2 even more.
"S-sarco… sarc- omer is the..."
Jared made a buzzer noise and slammed a hand down on the floor. "Wrong, drink."
Deep down Z knew that they were doing this on purpose, it didn't really matter if he got it right or wrong. He took a swig of the vodka to get it over with as quickly as possible and continued. There was a brief window of time when the vodka actually made it easier to read. It became more natural, like he was on autopilot. The skills were there… they just weren’t very accessible to him.
"... is the smallest functional unit in what kind of body tissue?"
"Muscle." Jared answered, looking pleased with himself.
This went on for a while until Z2 started having a hard time even seeing the cards. They kept alternating between topics and he found that Brian's questions were a lot easier to read than Jared's. To be fair he was using a bunch of words Z2 had never seen before. Anyone other than a biology student would have a hard time reading them, at best he could sound them out and hope he was right.
Every time he got something wrong they they smiled and laughed at how dumb he was. If he didn't feel so sick Z2 would have drank the vodka willingly just to escape this situation.
He looked back down at the paper swimming in his hands, either the handwriting on these cards was getting sloppier or his vision was getting blurry, probably the latter. He had to open his heavily lidded eyes wide and hold the paper up close to his face. "What is the.. difference between.. mmm" he started to doze off mid sentence. Slurring even the easy parts.
"That counts as a fail, take a drink," Brian said. Z2 eyed the bottle and reached for it with uncoordinated hands. He managed to bring it up to his mouth, taking another sip of the poison. It didn't sting anymore.
Brian and Jared had been sipping on the vodka as well but not nearly as much as they made Z do.
"I really.... don wanna drink no more." Z2 said. He knew it was a risk but he had to say something. The more he was forced to drink, the harder the game got, forcing him to drink anymore. It didn’t take long for things to spiral out of control. The frat boys have made him do things like this before but usually it was with something weaker, like beer. This was straight vodka, hard liquor.
"We went over this already Z2, if you don't help me study I'll fail my class. You don't want to be responsible for that do you?" Brian said.
Z2 was so drunk now that he didn't even pick up on the manipulation behind his twisted logic. All he wanted was to please his masters.
--
When Alex was ready to take a break from studying he got up from his desk and stretched, just now checking the time. It was 2am, he'd been studying for hours straight. No wonder his brain felt like mush. He paced back and forth at the end of his bed a few times to restore circulation and headed out to find Z2. It was best not to leave him alone for too long, you never knew what the other frat boys might do to him.
"Zee zee?" He called out at the top of the staircase where noise traveled the best. No response. It was possible Dominic was sheltering him in his room. "Hey Dom, is Z in there with you?" He asked.
"No." Dom called out from inside.
Z2 had a number of hiding places in the house Alex could look in but usually he responded when he called him. It was arguably the middle of the night, most guys here considered 2am mid afternoon, but it was possible he was just asleep somewhere. He heard talking from one of the other rooms upstairs.
“Hey have you seen…” Alex started as he walked into the room. His face twisted into anger and disgust once he realized what was going on. He had found Z and the boy was on the floor leaning against the wall, slowly listing to one side. Brian and Jared sat around him surrounded by papers and textbooks somehow oblivious to the fact that Z2 was passed out and pale as a sheet. He hadn’t even perked up at the sound of him entering.
“What the fuck is this?” He demanded.
“We were just… studying,” Jared said with a laugh. “You can take him now if you want, he stopped reading the questions a little while ago.”
Alex forced down the panic welling up inside him at the sight of Z2 slumped against the wall with a nearly empty bottle of vodka at his feet. He probably just fell asleep... “Zee, wake up.” He said, leaning over to pat his face gently but as his hand made contact with the boy’s skin he froze. “Why is he so cold? And clammy? Do you guys even realize how dangerous this is?” Brian and Jared looked at each other and shrugged. “Zee, it’s Alex, open your eyes for me.”
Z2’s head just lolled against the wall giving no indication that he’d heard him. This was bad. If they couldn’t wake him up he might need to go to the hospital but Alex didn’t even know if you could take pets to the hospital. He had to do something, and fast. Alex picked up the boy with ease, carrying him just a few doors down to his own room. Finding his phone on his desk he sent Dominic a frantic text. “My room. Now.” If it was anyone else he would have called an ambulance already or somehow gotten him to the car to take him to the hospital. Alcohol poisoning was no joke. But with Z it wasn’t that simple. It made Alex feel guilty, like deep down he didn’t think Z was worth the trouble.
He got him comfortable on the bed and pulled a blanket up to his shoulders to keep him warm. Then he emptied out the trash can under his desk having a feeling they might be needing it. Dominic skidded into the room a minute later.
“Go get water, and some gatorade!” He ordered. Dominic turned on his heel and rushed to the kitchen.
“Zee zee, you have to stay awake, open your eyes.”
“Hnnnh,” Z groaned.
“Good! Good, now open your eyes,” he told him again. Alex’s voice came to him through a long dark tunnel. He couldn’t really tell what he was saying but some instinct deep inside him compelled him to listen, no matter how difficult. It only felt like a couple seconds but it took him much of the next five minutes to do the simple task of opening his eyes. They were glazed over and unfocused but at least he was somewhat responsive.
Dominic burst through the door again carrying supplies, “Is he okay?”
“No, but he’s waking up a little. If it’s not too late we should try to make him throw up to get some of the alcohol out of his system,” Alex told him.
“Okay how do we do that?” Dom asked,
“Good old-fashioned fingers down the throat I guess. You hold the trash can and get ready.”
Alex sat to one side of him and Dom sat on the other holding the small bin under his chin. Z2 was still very disoriented but he did manage to trail his eyes between the two, making an effort to stay awake despite the warm fuzzy feeling trying to pull him under.
“I’m sorry for this, Zee, but I have to, okay? For your own good,” Alex said. He grimaced then sat him up a little straighter and proceeded to finger the back of his throat. It didn’t take long before Z started gagging from the unpleasant sensation. His body already desperately wanted to throw up but it needed a little help to do it. Dominic made sure he was in a good position the whole time. With gravity on their side there was far less of a chance of him choking.
“There you go, that’s good,” Dom said as he patted Z’s back in a comforting manner. Alex sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “What?”
“Nothing… it’s just. This is such a dangerous place for him you know? These guys do some of the dumbest shit, it’s amazing they’re here to go to college.”
Z2 heaved over the bin until he had nothing left in his stomach to bring up. It was lucky they got to him when they did because if his body hadn’t managed to purge the insane amount of liquor they made him drink he would have just gotten worse and worse.
“How do you feel, Zee? You still with us?” Dom asked.
“Mmm,” Z responded. They both sighed in relief knowing that he was listening now. He shivered under the blanket, trying to nestle further into it.
“No, no, you have to stay sitting up.” Alex said. He grabbed the water and gatorade, opting to start with the water then in a little while he could have some of the gatorade for sugar and electrolytes.
Alex brought the bottle to his lips and told him to drink. To his surprise Z turned his head away and shuddered, “I don’t… want to… no.” He said. A single tear fell from one of his eyes. He must think they were still trying to give him vodka.
“It’s water, you need to drink it,” Dom added. Z blinked a few times, willing his eyes to focus on the two boys in front of him. Seeing that they were his friends he started to drink from the water bottle with blind trust. After only a few swallows though he had to stop. Everything was spinning, he felt overheated, any more than that and he’d just lose it again.
“What happened? Who did this?” Dominic asked, taking the bottle of water from Z and setting on the bedside table.
“Brian and Jared, they made some kind of drinking game out of studying I guess. So stupid,” Alex said.
“Stupid,” Z2 echoed.
“What?”
“Wouldna happ’ned if I wasn’t so dumb.. if I could read better. ‘s my fault,” he choked out.
“It is not your fault.” Alex said firmly. He wasn’t there for it but he had no doubt that once Z was drunk enough not to notice they made him drink for no reason at all. They thought it was funny seeing him like that. They thought it was funny to almost kill a person. “I’m gonna go bash their brains in.”
“What? Hold on,” Dom sputtered after Alex’s sudden change of mood. He wanted to follow him but he also didn’t want to leave Z alone so he just watched as Alex stormed out of the room.
He kicked the door in to Brian’s room. The knob scraped across the doorframe from the unnatural motion. Brian jumped up in surprise. He and Jared were still lazing about in his room, making a passive attempt to study.
“Woah. Someone looks mad.” Jared laughed. Alex crossed the room and knocked Jared onto his back. He didn’t even have the words to yell at him. He ended up just sitting there with Jared pinned under him. His chest heaved and his eyes burned with rage. A look of fear crossed over Jared’s face, finally realizing that he was serious and Alex was probably a few seconds away from strangling him.
“Dude stop, that’s enough,” Brian said, tugging at Alex’s sweatshirt.
“Wait your turn, Brian,” Alex spat. Unable to let this go without some kind of punishment, Alex punched him in the face twice. He could have done a lot more damage but violence wasn’t really in his nature.
“Keep hitting him like that and he’ll lose the only two brain cells he has left,” Dom said suddenly from the doorway. “I don’t think we should risk that. Come on, Zee is asking where you went.
“Oh how swe-” Brian didn’t get the change to finish that remark before Alex got up off of Jared and hit him too on his way out. Brian fell back against his bed frame, holding his jaw protectively, looking dumbfounded at what just happened.
They didn’t waste any more time getting back to Alex’s room. Without someone there talking to him Z could fall asleep and he was still in far too bad of shape to take that risk. Z looked so small in the bed tucked under the blankets. He smiled drunkenly when Alex came back to sit on the edge of his bed.
“You should have some gatorade too, and some saltines later,” he said. Z nodded obediently.
Dom stood off to the side awkwardly with his hands in his pockets, “So uh, I really need to get back to studying. My first exam is in less than six hours.”
“Shit, me too. But I don’t know how I’ll focus now. Someone should watch him for a while longer at least.” Alex said.
Z picked up bits of pieces from their conversation making him feel more and more like a burden. He struggled to sit up, his arms didn’t want to cooperate with him. “I’m okay.”
“You are not okay.” Alex said.
“If only there was someone here who already took their tests…” Someone piped up from the hallway. Cam poked his head in as if to respect his privacy before throwing the door the rest of the way open in a grand display of how little he gives a shit.
“You? Took tests?” Dom said skeptically.
“C’s get degrees,” Cam shrugged. “You guys look pretty busy. I’ll take Zee zee here off your hands.”
“No. Absolutely not.” Alex argued.
“What? You don’t trust me? I’ll make sure he drinks his water and eats his crackers. Don’t worry,” He paused to look right at Z2, “I’ll take good care of him.”

* flowergirl. Chap. 2
Genre : Soulmate AU
Pairing : Yunho X Reader / Woosan / Seongjoong
Warning : none except light curse words.
Recommended playlist : Talk To Me- Red Velvet
Words : 1.7k+
The morning came. Yunho has never been so energized like that in his whole life. Even if it just for a moment, it’s already been a colorful life for Yunho’s. Just imagine if they were together. Ah, what a heaven. *RINGSS RINGSS* (sorry im bad at imitating those alarm clocks TT) Shit, he was running late, Hongjoong gonna spank his sorry ass. (He likes it tho :p) He wear his usual boyfriend’s look, to impress his soulmate, Nana. Speaking of her, he curious about that Wooyoung guy. Was he her’s boyfriend? Please no. He waited for her long enough. Damn it! Another daydreaming. He gasped after looking at his watch and races to the door.
-
He arrived at Hongjoong’s place in 10 minutes with hope that he is not going to get killed by that tiny boss. Just his luck, Hongjoong was also running late. “Ayy lover boy, come here, I need you to arrange what Hongjoong has extracted 2 months ago.” Mingi smirked. Yunho was flustered. “What lover? You’re wish.” Too late, San has already informed everybody. As expected, Reporter Choi San doing his duty. Well, this is a big news as Yunho never has a girlfriend despite all his friend has one before encountered their respectful soulmate. ‘Saying about being loyal.’ Mingi shrugged. Heck! Even clumsy Mingi had ten and more before he met Aisha. Ehem.... for some experience. Damn, that tall girl already dominated Mingi’s little princess heart with her boyish charm. Blessed with great figure and athletic abilities, Mingi was so damn grateful. Suddenly...
*BANG*  As they were about to do some work, Hongjoong slammed the door. Poor those big babies almost has mini heart attack. ‘Well, his expressions doesn’t seem that great’ Mingi and Yunho exchanged looks and thinking the same thing. (plot twist:real soulmate -.-). “Do I looks like someone who would cheat to you?!” That tiny man ask both of them. They just shakes their head. “Right!? How the hell he get that idea that I would cheat with my customers? How the hell did he even become my soulmate? Aren’t soulmate SUPPOSED to trust and understand each other? Why the hell this world has this soulmate thingy? I should just live in somebody’s pocket,” Hongjoong rolled his eyes. Then he slammed his workroom door. Poor doors.
“I didn’t even know Hongjoong have soulmate?” Yunho asked Mingi. “Well, how the hell you would know? They broke up just before you came on your first day. That’s why Hongjoong was a bit mean when he interviewed you. But don’t worry, deep down, he is a kind man. Damn, I cringed at that.” Mingi and Yunho laughed. “But... aren’t you supposed to stay with your soulmate through thick and thin?” Mingi just sighed. “It’s the couple decision to break up or to stay. But in returns, your heart is the one suffering. So it’s better to treat your soulmate well.” Yunho smiled. “Nice words, clumsy Mingi.” Mingi grinned.
The bell rings to indicate new customer has come in. Yunho was about to greet the customer but the customer has backhugged him. He blinked. “Umm... who are you?” Yunho’s heart started to race, this time it’s not that ‘crush-looking-at-you’ kind but ‘shit-is-that-a-burglar?’ kind. “It’s me bro!” San yelled excitedly. Yunho sighed. “Bro you scared me!” Yunho whined. San actually was on his morning break to grab some coffee after his morning weather forecast news but decided to hang out at Hongjoong”s shop instead. “How’s my big babie Mingi doing?” Mingi popped his head from the store room. “Doing well Sannie! Aisha surprised me with a private event last night for our 2nd anniversary.” Mingi excitedly share his story with a dreamy face. San nods. “And you Yunho?” Yunho sighs. “Hopefully I can meet her today tho.” He pouts. “Where is that exactly?” Yunho just shrugged his shoulders. “I met her at the alleyway that goes straight to P.S flower shop.” San squints his eyes. “Is that what I think I heard? She has connection with Park Seonghwa then?” San mumbled. “What?” Yunho asks in curiosity. “Nothing! Oh, look at the time! Chief Kim gonna search for me, take care guys!” San headed toward the door. Yunho and Mingi just waves to his back.
-
“Yah Nana, look at meeeee!” Wooyoung stomped his foot. “Shut the f up Wooyoung. You know I can’t even look at myself.” Wooyoung suddenly looked guilty. Yeosang nudged him. “Why the hell you said that?” “Sorry! I’m not used to it!” Wooyoung whisper-yelled at Yeosang. “You know she was sensitive about it right? Even she’s pretending like it was nothing.” Wooyoung just sadly stares at her. Yes, even if she was not perfect, Wooyoung still likes her. “Wooyoung, I know you’re staring at me.” Wooyoung just looked away. “When did I do that? You’re mistaken, sis.” Nana rolled her eyes. “BRO, YOU LITERALLY DID THAT WHEN YOU FEEL SAD OR GUILTY ABOUT SOMETHING, I KNOW YOU LIKE THE BACK OF MY HANDS.”
Wooyoung was startled. “How did you know that?” Wooyoung asked. “Let’s say I use my other sense better after I lost my eyes. Call that intuition. And bro, we literally grew up together.” Suddenly, Yeosang starts to speak, “If you didn’t butt in someone’s business, you probably can still see us you know.” Wooyoung kicked Yeosang’s legs. “Yeosang-ah, don’t be mean!” “What, I speak the facts only.” Yeosang shrugs. Nana bit her lips. “If you didn’t like befriend with someone who likes to butt in someone’s shit, then don’t.”  She left the table. “Sorry Yeo, but you’re being a dick. Wait Nana!” Wooyoung chases after Nana. “I don’t like to befriend with a stupid whose slow with his love life either.” Yeosang sips his tea.
-
Nana arrived at the rooftop of her school. Wooyoung quietly closes the door. “Am I being stupid Wooyoung?” Wooyoung shakes his head, ah, he forgot Nana can’t see him. “Nope, no at all, Nana.” “I didn’t even asked to be blind! I never thought it would backfires on me! If only... “ Nana sobbed. Wooyoung hugged her. “No, Park Nana. You did the right thing. You do know that God help someone who helps other people right?” Nana nodded. “Good, and you know Yeosang didn’t mean what he said right? He just worried like me and Seonghwa after the news. He is the one who panicked the most you know? Saying things such as ‘Wooyoung if something happens to my baby while you’re slow driving right now, you’re dead.’ He cares about you like a lot.” Wooyoung shuddered.
“Okay, I should probably search for him.” Nana seems a bit touched and pulled back. Wooyoung saw the snorts attached to his uniform but didn’t say anything. “Sorry for that Wooyoung, to watching me crying my ugly ass” Wooyoung shakes his head. “As long as my princess happy.” Nana smiled. The nickname he used on her still used till today. Strangely, they’ve never fight. Just annoying here and there, mainly Wooyoung started it tho. This special bond they’ve shared till this day never failed to amazed them.
-
They went back into the class. Other students badmouthing Nana right in front of her as they were jealous with how beautiful and smart Nana is before that accident happens. The badmouthing now has worsen since Nana became blind, saying she’s an attention seeker. And Nana just start loosing her confidence. Before, she would retort to those rumors strongly but now she’s scared they will be worsen and she can’t protect herself if Wooyoung and Yeosang were not around. But when Wooyoung came, they changed their attitude. Yeosang can’t stand this kind of behavior. “Hey you bitch one and bitch two. Stand up.” The girls who were badmouthing Nana stands up instantly. If Nana was a gun, Yeosang was a bazooka. That kid never losing a verbal fight even once in his life. Straight up burn everyone with his words alone.
“Wooyoung and me didn’t fail our last year final exam on purpose and retake this year just to hear you bullying Nana. Your face doesn’t get approved even if you just wished to be our girlfriends. Even a tons of make up and plastic surgeries will not cover your ugliness because that comes from your heart. Yet you call an ulzzang and natural face like her an ugly woman? Apologize.” The girls were speechless and stuttered but before Yeosang could raise his voice, Nana grabbed his arm. “That’s enough, let’s go Yeosangie.” Yeosang just let her drag him away to their seat. Just in time, the teacher came in and the class starts.  “I’m sorry for earlier Yeosangie.” Yeosang just smiled and patted her head.
-
After the school ends, Nana went straight up to Seonghwa’s flower shop. She called for her brother, well, no one is answering. But, after a while, her heart started to beat fast. ‘Shit, not this again.’ She quickly went to hide behind the counter. The door’s bell were ringing and someone sounds breathless as if they just ran. ‘Fuck, I’m not ready to meet him yet!’ “You’re here right? And you can feel it too. Please, I’ve been waiting to get to know you..” Nana’s heart just a bit melted by his sweet voice. “Sorry, but I’m not ready to meet you yet. If you were willing, can we just exchanges name for today? We can take it slow.” As long as that is what his soulmate wants, Yunho obligated. Even if he’s already know what was her name. (Doesn’t want to sound like a stalker~) “My name is Jeong Yunho, and I’m waited for 20 years to serve my beautiful soulmate.” He said it so cheesily that Nana starts to blush. “My name is Nana, I’m sorry but I don’t want you to see me in this condition right now. Can you please leave? You can come when I’m stabilized myself tomorrow.” Yunho just confused and agreed with it as he doesn’t want to come off as pushy soulmate in their first meeting. After he left, Nana released her breath. She didn’t even realised she was holding her breath this whole time. But, she kind of wondering, what kind of face does he has? Dog-like? Cat-like? Doesn’t matter, she can’t see them anyways.

The Lord is an Amazing Father
I have received an incredible amount of blessings from God this year. Not because of my works but because as a father, he wants to shower his children which stems from his love for us.
What BIG things has he done:
 1. My GRADES!!!! I’m telling you... In the last 3 weeks of school left, I was still failing 3 classes because I didn’t start the digital learning, until 3 weeks after it was going on: Accel Pre-calc, IB Lit, and APUSH.
Accel Pre-Calc: My grade was probably a 60-something during the last 3 weeks of school. By the grace of God, my teacher, luckily, kept extending the deadline to the retakes that we could do on our school page. And you bet, I used all of the chances I got to retake the quizzes and tests. Many of them, we were able to retake multiple times. That also has to be God’s work. After using up all of my chances on the retakes I was able to end the class on an 80. The Lord is good!
What happened for these last two classes are amazing!!!
IB Lit: I didn’t even try to do the work for this class because I didn’t have the books in hand nor did I do anything about that. I was at a 32 one day, and the very next day, it rose up to a 60. Like WHAT!!!! I think it was just the goodness of my teacher but I later found out that the district told the teachers to average the grade from the previous semester with the grade we had that current semester. That average grade would then be used to replace grades that were lower than the averaged grade. And, whooey. It skyrocketed my grades. Technically, a 60 is failing but because it was an IB class, 10 extra points were added, bringing it up to a 70, which is passing. The Lord is GREAT!!!
APUSH: On the very last day I had a 28 for the class. My teacher called me to say that I should at least attempt the Final even if I may not get a good grade because, who knows; maybe I could. I did by the way, but only by looking up the answers which I know others were probably also doing. I got a 94 on the Final which replaced 3 other works, which then brought my grade up to a 61. 61 plus the 10 points for it being an AP class, meant that it was a 71. I don’t have to do credit recovery!!! The Lord is WONDERFULLL!!!!!!
2. The Lord is very purposeful with my life, and I can tell. My pastor introduced me to a man who works for this growing company. Although I’m not old enough, I’m still learning the ins-and-out of it so that when I turn 18, I can begin the business as well. Only God knows, why I was introduced to this man. This man later on has helped me to get a phone, out of the kindness of his heart. Which leads to the third reason.
3. Before the man offered me the plan of giving me a phone; my sister brought up the fact that she was willing to buy me a phone that would cost up to 200-300 to buy and would lead me to pay around $30 dollars for monthly payments. But the man, on the very same day that me and my sis discussed about the phone, told me that he was willing to give me his free phone that he would get because of his family plan for the phone company. So, the phone would be of no cost and all I had to pay was $20 monthly!! God provided me with an even better plan that wouldn’t hurt my mom’s pocket too much. It’s wonderful how he provides us with things that are beyond what we even ask for.
4. Me and my big sis are finally CITIZENS!!!! The timing of God is utterly wonderful! Now being citizens of the US, I’m able to have a wider amount of opportunities.
I’m going to stop here. The Lord has done more than this but I can’t share all of it. And I know that he’ll even do more. Even in your life he will.

Teacher tells me I am lying about my mother having cancer.
This is a long one with TLDR at bottom
This was in my grade 11 year of high school, My computer class had a year long substitute teacher because our amazing teacher was out for a year working on a government contract. Our previous teacher was outstanding. He had six different classes in our classroom all happening at the same time which were: computer repair, programming lvl1, programming lvl2, networking lvl1, networking lvl2a and lvl2b. He would give a lecture for each of the classes on a specific day of the week, programming on Monday, repair on Tuesday and so on, we would all work in our own groups and everything went quite well.
The next year came around and I found out that we had a sub for the year I had two back to back blocks in this class cause I was doing two courses, I wandered up to the class to see what kind of teacher we were dealing with, mainly interested because i was almost certain whoever they found did not have the credentials to teach at least half of those classes. The new teacher was a foreign woman that none of us have ever heard of before, for the purpose of the story we will call her Mrs. S.
I went and found my friends to tell them what I had seen. We were all optimistic cause from a very short conversation she seemed quite informed and had a good background.
It didn't last long, on the first day of class Mrs. S introduced herself as a programming teacher who had been in school for four years. She went on to tell us about her programming experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access. She then told us that the programming students would not be doing the Java and C++ course we had signed up for and would instead be doing database and Excel because those are what she learned and she said and i quote 'they will be more useful than C and The Java'. She also went on to suspend all at lunch clubs because she didn't think high school students could be trusted with computers alone.
Understandably some of us were quite upset about that considering that we came there to program. She also did not give the repair people or the networking people any kind of support and completely stopped their lectures as well, preferring to let them figure it out themselves and 'self teach' without giving any of the resources to do so and occasionally throwing out a test pre-written by the last teacher for her.
This continued for about two weeks till one day she came in and said quite irritated that we would actually be doing 'The Java' now unless we wanted to keep doing database, so we switched to Java and she basically left us out to dry from there. because she wasn't teaching Database anymore she came to harass people in computer repair. First she told us the shop room was too messy and made us throw out 90% of our training workstations and equipment because they were not important in her eyes. Equipment that did not belong to the school but actually belonged to the other teacher. We took home what we could steal for safe keeping but she did end up throwing out a few thousand in equipment.
Then she started imposing stupid rules on us such as;
"You can't have the computer on while you are troubleshooting inside cause you could electrocute yourself"
Or
"You don't need the case open to troubleshoot motherboard lights"
Or my personal favorite and the most scary
"maybe you should change the power supply to 240v if you aren't getting enough power"
We followed most of her stupid requests as much as we could because she threatened to lock us out of the lab room and give us only textbook work if we didn't. Needless to say it was a challenging time. One of the students in the networking area got fed up and started doing up his own course work and lecturing to us so that we could at least get some kind of use out of the courses. To his credit it was all very good but Mrs. S had the balls to force him into doing it from there on out and then turn around and give him low grades for not getting his own work done on time.
A few months of this very uneasy balance go by and my mother comes down with Colon cancer. I have already had a handful of other family members suddenly taken from me by cancer so understandably this is a very stressful time. I was joking with my friends and trying to not break down over the whole thing. I had a very unstable laptop running Linux that would crash if looked at funny and had a horrible habit of corrupting the OS when the battery died because the reserve shutdown sensor didn't work anymore (battery always read 0% but would go for an hour or two). while I was working on the school desktop computer I had a few pages open that I was taking notes in and a facebook tab so I could keep in contact with my mother cause she was in surgery and I was waiting for her to come out. I look over and the teacher is snooping through my laptop opening folders and closing windows and eventually pushes the power button in till it shuts down (which also usually corrupts anything I was doing). The following happened.
M: What the hell do you think you are doing?
S: You shouldn't be on facebook or writing notes on a personal computer during class time, especially when your grades are slipping.
Thanks for bringing that up in front of everyone...
M: That gives you no right to touch my stuff! You better hope you didn't just corrupt everything! this laptop breaks easy.
S: Then you shouldn't have it out during class, keep that tone up and I'll see you get a detention.
At this point I am trying just to keep calm because if I get too emotional I have a tendency to explode. This is often made worse because of my mild autism. I took a second replied in a calmer tone.
M: I'm sorry, I'm just having a hard time at home right now... My mother was diagnosed with Colon Cancer and I am waiting to hear back.
And this is the part which REALLY set me off.
S: You don't look like a kid who's mother has cancer, quit making sob story excuses.
are you FUCKING kidding me‽
It took every fiber of my body not to stand up and slap the bitch right there. I gave her the dirtiest thousand yard stare I think I have ever done while also trying to not burst out crying. I spoke to nobody for the rest of the day till I got home, people kept asking if I was okay and I ignored everyone. My mother was out of the hospital and home by the time I got there. I broke down crying and told her about my day, her face was comforting but you could see the fire of an angry woman behind her brown eyes. She told me not to worry and that it'd be okay.
A few weeks passed and I was called into the office for a one on one parent teacher conference someone forgot to tell me about. There were all the teachers I had that year, good and bad, my Learning assistance teacher the VP and the principal herself. They told me that we were there to discuss my grade slippage as soon as my mother came. My mother was about 10 minutes late, leaving me to awkwardly sit with all these people. She comes in and is all smiles,
M: Sorry I am Late! I got held late at the hospital.
Someone but i'm not sure who asked her why she was at the hospital and if everything is okay. My mother answered in her happy way.
M: I was just getting my C̭̟̦̤̕A̰̣̰̼Ń͕̝̬C̵͕E̯R̥̫͇̹̳͝ checked on, Because I have cancer.
The room went cold and her voice seemingly dripped with blood when she said it, my computers teacher went pale and everyone in the room was giving a confused 'what on earth did you do' look
My mother proceeded to relay me coming crying home about how I was treated to everyone present while Mrs: S tried to become one with the wall of the small meeting room. She kept it short but to paraphrase added the following.
M: How dare you say something so careless to my son, I hope you are ashamed and I hope you don't get invited back for another year.
She then returned back to her normal happy self and discussed my grades like nothing happened whilst half the teachers were still trying to figure out what just happened and told them that now she was out of the hospital my grades should improve again. I just sat quiet the whole time and tried to suppress bursting out laughing.
After that day she never directly spoke to me again, had instructions relayed through other people or gave them to the class as a whole, she did her damnedest to be nowhere near me and say nothing to me. My grades improved quite a bit and the year ended with me passing.
Mrs. S was previously offered a job at the school as a secondary computer teacher but after all the trouble the job was pulled back. The next year when our first computer teacher returned he was furious to learn most of his equipment and personal books had been thrown out, we returned the things that we snagged during the purge but he still lost a few thousand in personal teaching stuff. The school payed him back with 10,000 but he says he lost so much more than that in time and pre-set hand made equipment. We told him all about the horror show and he gave us all an extensive test normally given at the end of the year which the vast majority of us failed, we ended up redoing all the computer courses from the previous year because in his words she didn't even teach us the basics. that sub can no longer teach in this or the neighboring districts
TLDR: Shitty year long sub fucks us all over, tells me i am faking my mother's cancer and destroys another teachers personal property. Gets ripped into by mother with all my teachers and VP and P present. looses opportunity to work in my district or any surrounding for being unprofessional and not knowing her subject forcing everyone in her class to retake the next year.

BLOG #1: Einstein-inspired School
My class and I read this certain essay by Einstein called “On Education”. Of course, anything concerning about one’s thoughts about our education system, especially if that one person is Albert Einstein of all people, piques my interest, so I read it the first chance I could. While I had no doubts about it before, Einstein truly knew what he was talking about in that essay. So many insights that should be taken into consideration, so many ideas that should be implemented into our education. If we lived in such an ideal world that has schools built and developed based on the ideas of not only people of the past like Einstein, but of the input of students and graduates and of the development of society, then who knows what could happen?
We could only dream of that world today. For now, we can start planning; What would a school inspired by Einstein look like? That’s what some of my classmates and I got into thinking.
It was... something, really. My group mates were the ones who made most of the ideas. I was just a sitting duck. Isn’t that enlightening? How someone like me got to be in the same classroom, in the same school as such bright and shining people like them. I’m always the one getting distracted, the one who can’t seem to focus for more than just a few seconds unless you managed to hook my attention with a bunch of references to childish medias like Pokémon and the Sonic the Hedgehog series and The Lego Movies and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- And that gave me a thought. Education, at its very core, was always, is always, supposed to be fun, to be enjoyable. Yes, we’re still meant to learn, yet it doesn’t have to be as mind-numbing as it is today. With the current time’s high-stakes tests and singular attempts in such a way that once you fail, you can’t redo it again to get it right, it’s a failure, it’s a zero, that’s it. So I thought; Why not make it so that there are objects in the classroom that the students can play around with, like stim toys! Who knows how many times I just wished I could play around with something with my hands while listening to class all because of the need to move to the point I can barely tell what’s going on. Make them be able to retake tests! Not the same exact tests, of course, but still on the same topic as the one they’d like to retry because you won’t learn anything from failure if failure is just one and done. Our education system doesn’t properly prepare us for the future. If we look at the literacy rates... at the employment rates... something is clearly wrong, and that’s not the people. It’s the system.  The fear of failure didn’t let me voice that thought, and that’s really the problem, isn’t it? How our education system, instead of building confidence in all of us, instills fear into most and leaves those who can raise their heads from the tides to shine. Collaborating on the project was fun, at the least. I’m not particularly close to anyone in the group or class, so it was more of a formal matter to me.  The school we made... it almost seemed like a new hope. I wish that one day, the children of the future generations can have a school like that. I may not get to experience or see a future with a school such as the one my group has thought of, but the idea that other’s can experience it and can become less messed up than me? It makes me happy. I hope children like me can one day express themselves and be happy at school and be able to learn more than I could now. If anything, the future is supposed to be easier for the newer generations, so why are we making it harder on them? Isn’t that the purpose of development? ...I may or may not have gone off-topic. My mistake. I guess what I’m trying to go for is that... our education system sucks and it could be better. In the most blunt words I could muster. And I hope that one day... the children can smile more than I do.  :]

Grades, Education, Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation
Tumblr media
Dear Reader,
This image inspired me to write about the following:
- Grades, Education, Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation
These are merely my thoughts, opinions, and/or stance on the above topic(s), and should NOT be accepted as fact without having conducted your own research beyond the scope of this article. That being said, I do hope that these words will inspire you to think critically on the topic, while keeping all points of view in mind. Now let’s get started…
I was originally going to write this post on June 20th, but life got in the way. I also realized that I needed to spend a little more time critically thinking about my position on these matters. That being said, I have returned to my initial belief, with some caveats. Being a student has been my primary or secondary career for the better part of the last two decades. As I have aged, I went from a kid who would do just about anything to get an A to one who feels that our entire educational system needs reformation. Here’s a little over 1000 words on why I think things need to change.
Why do we (read: I) go to class?
When I was younger, I went to school to get good grades. That was it. I didn’t particularly care for learning, because most things came easily to me. Getting good grades meant I was smart, and getting better grades than everyone else meant that I was smarter than everyone else.
I would graduate from high school and be faced with reality. Not only was I no longer the smartest person in the world (nor was I ever), but having good grades didn’t make me the smartest person either. In my early undergraduate years, I would find that I would sometimes get better grades than my classmates, but they would understand and be able to apply the material better than I would be able to. I would rely on them to get As in the class, while they would get Bs for various reasons, despite having a better grip on the subject material than I did.
I now understand that we go to class to acquire knowledge of information and skills and the best ways to apply that knowledge and skills. My idea of a good student is no longer one who merely gets good grades, but is instead one who acquires knowledge of a given subject and can continue to apply that knowledge beyond the classroom. I have learned to accept my Cs on my transcript, as those often represent classes that I struggled in, and therefore learned a lot from, while As typically represent classes that I coasted in. This brings me to my next point.
I am not a fan of the A-F grading scale
Ideally, grades would provide an indicator of student aptitude, performance, and mastery of subject material. I do believe that the A-F scale can be representative of a student’s performance in the class (almost certainly. How does one get an A in a class they did incredibly poorly in?) and perhaps even their aptitude (A student who averages a 90% in the class probably has the aptitude to quickly process and understand information). However, grades are often the only representative of a student’s mastery of the course in situations where the grading is honest and transparent. When there are several sources suggesting that many institutions of higher education will artificially inflate grades, these grades lose almost all meaning. Students are often in situations where they are no longer learning, but merely trying to achieve the highest letter grade, regardless of what they learn.
Allow me to briefly speak on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Extrinsic motivation is defined as any motivation that comes from outside an individual. Money, fame, and praise are extrinsic motivators, as they originate from outside of the individual. Intrinsic motivation originates from inside an individual, and solely exists for the purpose of creating positive emotions in the individual. Taking a class because you might love the material or the instructor is intrinsic motivation. Taking a class because you need a grade in said class to graduate is an example of extrinsic motivation. Graduating is the intrinsic end, while the grade is simply a means to an end.
Grades have become, and maybe always have been, an extrinsic motivator. They are viewed as something that students achieve as a means to an end (graduating, getting more money, higher prestige, not getting kicked out, making their parents happy), instead of viewing their education as an intrinsic end itself (learning more about their world and how to interact with it). When the average letter grade is the highest letter grade possible, then the system has lost all meaning.
So what’s the solution?
I personally believe that the solution to the problem of intrinsically and extrinsically motivated students would have to include the revision or abandonment of the A-F letter scale, which emphasizes getting the lucrative “A” grade over all other factors. This could potentially be completed with a shift to transcript evaluation instead of using a GPA to define a student’s aptitude.
Perhaps a pass/fail numeric grading system with a “course rating” system could be a solution. Students would only receive a pass/fail grade on their transcripts, but instructors would provide a bell curve with median class numeric grades for each instance of each course they provide, perhaps through a centralized system. Classes with lower numerical averages would be considered “more difficult”, and students with more passing grades in more difficult courses would be coveted. Theoretically, this would be a deflationary system as compared to our current inflationary system, as students would be encouraged to take harder courses to achieve higher status, while professors would be encouraged to be more honest, and even more difficult, with their grading to keep their class medians from ballooning and preserve the prestige of their course.
One of the potential pitfalls of this method is that it would add additional stress to students, as classes would be encouraged to be more rigorous to maintain their prestige. This would ideally be offset by having a pass/fail system, where students merely have to pass a class to achieve its prestige. Another pitfall for this system is its reliance on instructor integrity, as the system falls apart if instructors deflate grades and then pass everyone anyways. This could be remedied by having professor’s grade students honestly as they pursue mastery of a course, as evaluated by a final exam or project. Students that fail a course could also be allowed to retake the course as many times as they want, with the most recent course outcome replacing all previous outcomes. This could reduce student pressure to pass a class on the first try, and instead shift focus to passing a class when sufficiency has been achieved.
Much of the world operates on a pass/fail system. No one cares whether I got maximum points on my driving test. We only care that I displayed proficiency in operating a motor vehicle.
I recognize that there are other potential pitfalls to this outline that I have not considered, and I do not mean for this to be the one fix-all solution. I am merely stating my belief that we have become complacent with our current educational system, and a better system may exist that could remove the extrinsic motivator of letter grades and produce more intrinsically motivated students, which could produce more efficacious citizens. There are many sources suggesting that students need to become more intrinsically motivated, and maybe one day a solution can be found and widely adopted.
